Stray - The Ongoing Series
$12,223

STRAY is the story of Rodney Weller, formerly known as the Rottweiler, sidekick to the great Doberman...his mentor. It’s been five years since he’s worn a costume and taken to the rooftops, but he’s back to solve the murder of the person who trained him. In the end, if he survives, he’ll have to decide if he wants to take over his mentor's mantle, or become something...someone, new...
...and now, his story CONTINUES!
WHAT IS OUR STORY ABOUT?
We are starting a new era for STRAY as it makes the jump from mini-series to a bi-monthly ongoing at Action Lab Entertainment. When last we saw Rodney, he was one of the heroes saving the world in ACTIONVERSE. As a result of those events, he has decided to do more for the common man, to leave the "superheroing" to the heroes with super powers. But, things don't go as he planned as he is pulled into a grand cosmic conspiracy that involves the first girl he ever kissed and a hostile alien force known only as The Intolerance.
We're calling this first story arc "The Rottweiler Years" as it takes place in both the past AND the present. The flashback artwork (which will be the bulk of the story) will be done by newcomer, Phil Cho, while the present day art will be done by series co-creator, Sean Izaakse.

Future storylines will have guest stars (Midnight Tiger? Molly Danger? Yep!) and even guest artists. The ongoing is currently plotted for 20 issues, which means we are ready, willing and able to go for FOUR YEARS!
"STRAY, as you’re about to find out, is a really good comic about things that matter: family, expectations, integrity, and the measure of a person in the face of overwhelming adversity. It’s a story told with passion because the creators themselves are passionate. Come take a look into the world they’ve built. You won’t regret taking the time." - Mark Waid (Thrillbent, Daredevil, and all your favorite comic books)

WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO DO?
Our primary goal is to pay for production costs associated with making the book. It was announced by Action Lab (at various conventions in 2015) that STRAY is going to be a bimonthly ongoing comic with 6 issues a year. Comics aren't cheap to make, and with our artist on the new arc, Phil Cho, making his debut, we want to make sure he's able to do STRAY without having to take breaks or look for other work to supply him with a living wage. If you look at our last Kickstarter campaign, compared to this one, the goal is lower which means we've been able to make adjustments to make better use of your dollars. The more money we raise, the more issues we can make.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?

WHAT HAVE CRITICS SAID ABOUT STRAY?
"Stray...is a great value book with excellent artwork and a solid hook for future issues. I heartily recommend it." - Word of the Nerd
"Marvel and DC should take note of the pairing of Delsante and Isaakse; Stray is a traditional superhero comic that is properly constructed. Stray...excels because it doesn’t bare any bones about what it is; it’s an homage to the types of time-honored stories that draw most readers to the medium in the first place." - Freak Sugar
"Stray...is a love letter to superhero comics." - Unwinnable
"Stray...is a solid read and earns 4 out of 5 Drained Corpses." - Panels on Pages

KEY POINTS…
· The Kickstarter exclusive cover will only be printed for this campaign. NOWHERE ELSE. Plus, all physical STRAY copies will be signed by writer, Vito Delsante (and any other available collaborators at the time of shipping).
· STRAY VOL. 2 will be an ongoing bi-monthly comic book that, once funded, will be solicited via Diamond Comics to be sold in stores.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Money earned will go to covering fees, production, postage, and printing of the exclusive Kickstarter collection. Any leftover money will be used to pay for new artwork that will be used in the series...maybe some back ups by other creators? Variant covers? All money will go back into the book, period. The first goal of this campaign, of course, is to continue giving our fans the high quality product they have grown to love and enjoy.
Risks and challenges
We expect very light risks and challenges as Action Lab Entertainment is taking the bulk of the fulfillment on their shoulders. One of the biggest hurdles we had with the first campaign was fulfillment, and with Action Lab helping us, we shouldn't have the issues we had the first time around. It's simply a matter of printing the books and shipping them to you. We plan to keep you all aware with constant updates and availability to answer any and all questions.
