About this project
Who Are We?
"We" Are InterMission Theatre, a student organization at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Founded by Nick Connors and Quinn Elmer, this group brings original student-written theatrical works to life with an all-student cast and crew. We are dedicated to producing the highest quality of productions that truly showcase the work of up-and-coming artists.
Space Voyage: The Musical Frontier
Space Voyage is a new and exciting musical with music and lyrics by Nick Connors, a composition student at the UW, and a script co-written by Connors and Quinn Elmer, a fellow undergraduate at the University. This musical is a loving and intelligent parody of classic science fiction, drawing inspiration from Star Trek, Star Wars, and everything in-between. With a wholly original story and cast of characters, Space Voyage follows Captain David Drake and his crew as they attempt to save the galaxy from one of its greatest threats. This musical has been in development for over two years. After multiple drafts and a staged reading, Space Voyage: The Musical Frontier has developed into a hilarious and moving production.
When and Where Can You See This?
Space Voyage: The Musical Frontier will be produced on the Drury stage in the Bartell Theater in Madison, Wisconsin (http://www.bartelltheatre.org/) on the weekend of March 14-16, 2013. We are also planning on uploading a recording of the show to Youtube in the spring/summer of 2013.
How Will Your Donation Help?
All donations will be used for the multitude of expenses associated with Space Voyage. Set construction, performance space rental, publicity, and costumes/props are just some of the areas that your funds will help greatly with.
Please consider joining our InterMission family and make a donation to help Space Voyage: The Musical Frontier take flight!
Risks and challenges
Space Voyage: The Musical Frontier faces several challenges. Members of InterMission Theatre will be hard at work advertising and marketing the show throughout the year to a wide audience, including UW-Madison students and members within the larger Madison community, as well as to many others outside the city. As this is InterMission Theatre's first project, the production of the show alone will present its own set of challenges, such as raising sufficient funds and building/importing the set. However, we feel 100% confident that the members of our organization have the talent, skills, and inner drive to be able to deliver a phenomenal run of performances. The attainability of our goals will increase with every supportive contribution we receive on your behalf.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
