About this project
We eventually decided on a brand new design: a frame built around circles instead of a single horizontal girder. The circular design of the frame helps to ensure that the bike spreads the weight equally across the frame. We put the seat and the handle bars at similar heights so that the front and rear wheels would bear the weight of the rider equally. We have used a carbon fiber as the primary material in the frame, making both extremely light and very durable. The “connecting box” in the middle of the frame is one of the handful of pieces made of heavier steel. This steel box can easily bear the weight of the rider and withstand the shocks associated with everyday use. In its current incarnation, Impossible can carry up to 85 kilograms/180 pounds (Please see stretch goals).
In order to save space, we have combined the function of riding saddle and carrying case. While folded, the NeverWet-coated carrying case keeps Impossible and its charger clean and ready for use wherever you choose to store it. Even on rainy days, backers can enjoy a safe and comfortable ride.
The disc motor of Impossible is both lightweight and powerful. With ten 2900mah 10A 3.6V 44.5g batteries, Impossible can travel up to 12.4 mph for 45 minutes or at normal speed for up to 15.6 miles.
You can fold and unfold Impossible in four easy steps
If successful, we will need around 8 months after the campaign to fine tune Impossible before we start production. As part of this campaign, we promise not to cooperate or to sign any sort of contract with a major retailer before our backers receive their Impossible. There are three packages available through this campaign: white, black, and original carbon fiber color. The original carbon fiber color Impossible will only be available through the Kickstarter campaign.
Who We Are?
Our Stretch Goal
Risks and challenges
WHY DO WE NEED FUNDING?
There is always a risk when producing a product that combines both hardware and software. Our team in Impossible Technology made everything to reduce it to a minimum but still the final version of our product might look and feel different than the one we have introduced. But the concept itself will never change. It still will be the world's smallest folding electric bike that fit into a backpack.
Impossible Technology is a recent startup and Impossible will be our first major product available to the public. Our motor prototype is extremely thin, designed to fit inside the front wheel of Impossible. The manufacture of these engines requires some equipment that we do not possess. We have spent months in negotiations with various manufacturers, but we do not currently have the capital available to pay for the manufacture of these engines. That’s where Kickstarter comes in.
If funded, we will be able to pay for the creation of these ultra-thin engines and reduce the weight to the goal we have set and get working Impossible out to consumers in the near future. The entire team dreams of getting Impossible out on the road as soon as possible, so the cost of Impossible during this project will be identical to the cost of manufacturing the bike for Impossible Technology. Any eventual retail price point will be higher than the price offered to backers during this project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The recommended weight for now is 85kg, the weight tolerance is up 90kg. For safety purpose only we do recommend not to exceed 85kg for now. And good news is we are already working on different models with different weight tolerance up to 110kg-120kg.
(WHERE ARE THE PEDALS?) In case if the battery were to run out while I was riding it half way, would there be an option to pedal it manually?
The main point of our bike is that it is light and small enough to be folded into your backpack. If we will add pedals or any other chain structure it will take more space and make it heavier. But we are making extra batteries which will be later available through our website as soon as we are fully funded. So you don’t have to worry about pedaling anymore. Plus you always can fold it into your backpack and walk to a close by coffee shop and recharge the battery within an hour and a half.
The height is adjustable from 65cm up to 80cm you can adjust it the way more comfortable for you between four given options 65,70,75 and 80.
Yes, of course, there is a braking mechanism. The brake installed in the bike is an electric brake, it’s in form of a button not a hand brake as in traditional electric bikes, that’s why it’s not visible to the eye from the distance.
The estimated charging time is an hour and a half. But since we are still updating our product the charging time might also change.
We are making extra batteries which will be later available through our website as soon as we are fully funded.
In the pledge description for the WHITE and the BLACK Impossible it says they come with a charger, but for the Original Carbon fiber Impossible it is not specified. Does it mean the Original Carbon does not include the charger?
The Answer is Charger is included in the pledge. We were so excited about our project that we forgot to mention that in our Carbon Fiber Pledge description and we are asking apologies from you dear Backers.
Motor type : Brushless DC Motor
Motor power : 24v, 250W
Maximum speed : 700R / MIN
Maximum output torque : 8.5N.M
The wheels that we are using at this stage of our project are solid and hollow inside, but it is not the final one. We haven’t decided final material ant it’s structure yet because we are searching for the best options and there a lot of materials that we are experimenting with.
The differences are only in colors. The carbon fiber one is the original carbon fiber color without coloring.
