Imperial Brass will present a special program “A Celebration of the Music and Legacy of Mark Freeh” on June 22 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, in honor of Imperial Brass founding member and brass band arranger Mark Freeh.
For 26 years, Mark Freeh was the driving force behind everything Imperial Brass did. Everything from booking concerts, arranging new pieces, bringing in guest soloists or conductors, and even producing albums, Mark was always the one leading the way.
Please join us as we pay tribute to a man who gave so much of himself to Imperial Brass for so many years. The event will feature Ronald Waiksnoris as conductor with special guest artists Philip Smith, Joe Alessi, and Warren Vaché, as well as guest conductors Torgny Hanson, Patrick Burns, Bramwell Tovey, Lawrence Markiewicz, and Anthony LaGruth. In addition to all of that, will also be the world premiere of a new work for brass band by composer Joseph Turrin.
Risks and challenges
Putting on a concert like this is an enormous project, that requires a lot of help from a lot of different people. Kickstarter is only one of the many ways we are working to bring this event to life. What this means for you as a backer is that the risk is minimal; the venue, guests, and vendors to record both audio and video of the concert are all secured. The biggest challenge we face is the turnaround time for producing the album and concert video in the weeks and months after the concert. Our goal is to have them in your hands by the holidays, and we are optimistic about our ability to meet that goal.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
