After 10 years in production and 2 years of beta testing, the Realms of the Ancients “ROTA” tabletop roleplaying game is nearing completion. Born from a sci-fi/fantasy world setting that was created and expanded over the last 16 years, the game provides a core rule system that gives players the flexibility to deal with any scenario, while simultaneously allowing for them to evolve their characters to near god-like status.
The world setting of the Realms of the Ancients Roleplaying Game (also referred to as ROTA), spans the entire Cosmos. You take on the role of an Awakened, a human or human-like being who has reached a new state of consciousness and is now able to wield superhuman powers. Perhaps you are a psychic who lived a fairly normal life before discovering you had powers, or you could be an ascended who trained for years to gain control over your reality. Maybe you are a shadow monk who assassinates targets for a secret organization, or a tradesman who learned to control machines while hopping from one starship to another. You could be a demigod, born with the strength of the gods, or a sorcerer who learned to control arcane power in a mysterious tower. You may even be an ancient, host to a being born at the dawn of time, or an experimental super soldier with ever-changing DNA. The choice is yours.
With a team of like-minded friends, you travel from world to world, performing missions and quests in an attempt to gain fame or infamy. Then, once you have earned enough funds and recognition, you set out into the Cosmos to stake your claim. All the while, you must be prepared to face otherworldly monsters, fleets of enemy starships, armies of aliens, magical creatures of legend, and other Awakened with the same goal as you: complete domination of the Cosmos.
Throughout your journey, fate steps in on multiple occasions, and you may find yourself transformed in a number of ways. Perhaps your quest brought you face to face with a pack of were-wolves who scratched you deeply, and you’ve suddenly gained the power to transform. Perhaps you woke one of the sleeping Gods of Old, and you’ve found yourself oddly connected to it, unlocking strange new abilities. Perhaps a coven of vampires hunted you down and, willingly or forcefully, turned you into one of their kind. You may even find yourself transformed into a creature with the power to absorb souls. There are many beings in the Cosmos, some good, some bad, all with the power to twist your fate.
With the Realms of the Ancients: Core Rulebook and some imagination, you have everything you need to enter this world. This book will teach you how to create a character, run a game session, run a campaign, and create your own realms. It also gives access to everything you’ll need to run cities, own henchmen, build strongholds, buy starships, enchant weapons, forge armor, fight monsters, and even evolve into the strongest Awakened of them all (a Deity, Living Weapon, Mage Lord, or Realm Lord). A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words - $1000 (Limit 2)
Not content with just telling others about your character? At this level we will include an illustration of your character along with the write-up in the Core Rulebook as an example character. You will be able to submit details of your character to our illustrator, and approve an image that will have the same look as the other illustrations in the Core Rulebook. Retailer - $2000 (Limit 5)
Your store will receive ten Core Rulebooks upon release signed by the Game Designers along with a Kickstarter Exclusive Gear List included with each. After the game is released, we will personally visit your store, run a game and sign books for patrons (US stores only). Immortality isn’t everything!
Someone should have told that to Dacheldor two billion years ago. Since then he’s traveled across galaxies, to parallel universes, and beyond to fill an inner emptiness he can’t comprehend. He’s moved from one battlefield to the next, executing those he felt deserved death and raising those he felt deserved power… until he learned of the Prophecy.
The Temporal Prophecy has never been wrong, and it promises Dacheldor will destroy the Cosmos. This is the last thing he would want; no Cosmos means there's nothing to rule. Now he must embark on the first journey in eons he cares about: freeing himself from fate. With the help of Prime, a samurai made of living darkness, and Den, a demonic monkey, Dacheldor must steal a sacred tome from the infamous Lord of Limbo. In his quest, Dacheldor battles fleets of starships, the living dead, dragons, and demons—but nothing compares to the power locked inside him that will change the lives of everyone in the Cosmos forever.

Still destined to destroy the Cosmos, Dacheldor—the infamous soul-stealing immortal—has made his way to the home of a Realm Lord Smith in hopes of creating an artifact that will allow him to cheat fate. Such an artifact does not come cheaply, though, and its price sends him on a quest that pits him against the most powerful beings alive: the first Realm Lords. Relying on his wits, his magic, and his companion, Prime the Phyercide, Dacheldor must race against time as an enemy even more dangerous than the Realm Lords lurks within him. Growing in power, waiting to take possession of his body, an incarnation of Dacheldor’s darker nature longs for the destruction he was destined to bring. But this is only half the story …
Aware of Dacheldor’s quest to escape his destiny, the Lord of Time works to thwart him at every turn. Using a team assembled of four warriors who were ripped from time, he attempts to track down Dacheldor and force him into his destiny. But the team soon begins to doubt its mission. Trapped in the realm of Limbo, where magic and technology combine, the four must choose between following their mission at the risk of the Cosmos or turning on their master at the risk of their lives.
Risks and challenges
The founders of Immortal House have been working on Realms of the Ancients for the past 10 years and have already encountered and overcome numerous challenges to get the final product where it is today. During and after the Kickstarter campaign we have set the ground work to mitigate risks and hopefully avoid future challenges before we hit them.
As business savvy individuals we began Immortal House Day 1 as a fully functioning business and not just a hobby or side project. We meticulously made sure all the business documents were in order in regards to legality and as production of ROTA and the novel series progressed, we were always mindful of the fact that Immortal House was the producer of these products and not any individual founder.
Both of these have laid the groundwork for completing and distributing ROTA after the Kickstarter Campaign in a timely and efficient manner. Of course there will always be unforeseen challenges, many of which we have encountered already, like delays from sub-contractors, beta-testing revisions and personal emergencies, but in the last 10 years we have learned from these challenges and have procedures in place to help overcome them in the future.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
