Many players asked if it’s possible to produce Guardians of Xobos with funding goal set at $10000 if game has 52 miniatures. And the answer is yes, its 100% possible. Here is why:
Game was successfully crowdfunded by Polish players at zagramw.to platform. Miniatures were also there, but delivered in separate box. We ordered and produced minimum required qty which is 500 sets. We delivered 245 sets for our backers and we have 255 spare. This is approximately number because we know few minis might be damaged and we need to hold 10-15 sets in order to be able to replace them to a player who will get damaged miniature. That brings 240 sets of miniatures with plastic trays we are possessing. Also we have additional elements left from original production, mainly wooden pieces which should fit for around 250 games. As you see, we got most expansive elements already produced - $10000 goal allows us to complete production: create new boxes (deeper than Polish edition ones), tiles, rulebook, screens and player charts plus other elements, which are relatively cheap comparing to minis.
If we haven’t got moulds and minis, funding goal would be minimum $26000 to make this project.
As you can see now, we have miniatures for 240 games, and if we had backers for 240 boxes, we would reach minimum $13,200 (without shipping pledges). And what if we would exceed those 240 boxes? Additional miniatures with transport from China (where they are made) would cost less than $3000, because we have already moulds for minis and moulds for plastic trays. Miniature creation process is complete so total costs lowers drastically. So even if we reach 250 boxes, we still are able to deliver games to our backers!
