About this project
Customize your mechs to fit your tabletop needs!
Tired of the same old figures from your local store? Want to unleash your very own 3D printed army into the Universe?
MECH MAKER allows you to create your own, totally unique, customized mech, and 3D print it!
And you don’t just create mechs, you can create your own games too. Find and share your best ideas with the community. That's right, YOU create the rules and upload them for the world to play.
MECH MAKER will be built for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPods) and a companion web experience as well!
Who doesn't want to create a bone crunching mech? With hundreds of components to choose from, you'll be spending quite some time putting together dozens of mechanical creations.
Each mech consists of 5 components: A head, torso, 2 arms, and a pair of legs. Once you find your ideal combination, throw some color on that mech. Start by coloring and placing patterns on the whole mech at once, then go in and edit each component to your liking.
After your mech is looking good, it's time to pose it for battle!
With thousands of parts, thousands of color and textures, as well as fully flexible posing in 3D, the odds against ANYONE making the exact same mech as you are astronomical! So rejoice, your mech is most likely the ONLY ONE of its kind in the WORLD.
We're also going to announce components designed by some very well known artists. Imagine piecing together your mech with parts designed by some of your favorite game and movie artists? Yeah, that's coming soon.
Continue to build new and exciting mechs by collecting MECH MAKER packs. When you open a pack, you will find an assortment of mech parts and patterns. If you love an item that is locked and can't wait to get it in a pack, you can buy it outright! Or if you have plenty of parts you don't use, you can recycle them to put towards new purchases! Each recycled component will give you points depending on the rarity.
Every component in MECH MAKER has a rarity value, and every pack offers you the chance to collect rare and unique parts to build your mechs with. The rarity values are: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, and Prototype.
Why play one set of rules with your figures when you can play hundreds? Our goal with MECH MAKER is to give you the tools to not only create a unique figure to bring to the physical world, but then do something with it.
Play our own Imagimod designed games, or try out some games users have created. When you're ready, the tools will be there for you to design your own game. Upload to our website and share among your friends, play-test, and when you feel like the world needs to play your game, make it public.
3D printing is here. This new technology allows us to deliver one totally unique figure, designed by you, instead of manufacturing thousands of the same toy as you see in retail stores.
MECH MAKER gives you the option to receive a full-color plastic 3d print through the mail. Remember, YOU designed it and only YOU have it.
Want to paint it yourself? Awesome! Select a single-color printed option and receive your mech in its full physical glory, but with a single color to paint on, and for a bit cheaper too.
Own your own 3D printer, or have access to one? Great! Download a file to print it yourself, FREE! Please note that self-printing may not apply to some licensed components.
MECH MAKER is truly something new. Where else can you customize a figure to your liking, bring it into the physical world, and have possibly hundreds of games to play with at your fingertips? NOWHERE!
Kickstarter is where we are reaching out to you with something we think you are going to love. We aim to deliver a creative and constructive community where users can showcase their creations, be it mechs or games, and help build game worlds on a global scale.
We have a great prototype working, and every day we make great strides towards better implementation, design, and 3d printing, but we need YOUR help to complete our first version and release it.
We’re asking for the minimum amount to finish an awesome app, and the app's scope will grow based on the amount of total backing we receive.
The more funding we get, the more components we can create for launch and the more guest artists we'll be able to have create awesome components. If we hit the relevant stretch goals, we hope to develop the app for Android users too.
We want to thank every one of you that helps donate or spread the word of our Kickstarter campaign. By the end of our 30 days, we hope to be moving along to deliver you the best in mech making capabilities. Let's be the start of something new. Thank you very much!

Risks and challenges
We think MECH MAKER is just the sort of project Kickstarter was made for - a place where new ideas can be given a chance by passionate fans. We believe we can find a substantial audience for this unique combination of figure customization and game design community.
As with development of any app, there can be complications. We already have a functioning prototype we are confident that with the money we seek from this campaign we can finish it and get it to you via the App Store.
Full-color plastic printers are a very new technology and are in limited supply. We do however have strong relationships with the two largest 3D printer makers and are confident we’ll be able to get you the exclusive printed mechs we offer as rewards soon after the closing of this campaign.
That's what MECH MAKER is for! Customize your mech to your liking, then purchase the 3D print through us. We will then ship the custom mech to your address!
The final answer to that will come after the success of the Kickstarter, but one way or another you will receive the STL file (licensed components may not apply), and can print it out yourself if you have access to a 3D printer.
Our prototype currently functions on iOS devices (iPhones, iPads, iPods), and we would like to build for Android as a stretch goal. Users will also be able to customize their mechs through a web player of MECH MAKER on our website at launch.
