HOLY CARDS GAME
I am the father of an 8 year old who is like other boys his age. He likes football, amusement parks, and video games, especially Zelda` Skylanders©, Mario Brothers©, and all things Pokémon©. He spends a lot of time memorizing aspects of the characters in all of the games. I only see the benefit in learning this trivia if he were to find himself on Jeopardy© someday.
I would like to introduce an alternative option where he can have the fun of collectable cards, and competition and imaginations associated with a role-playing game; while learning about art, science, higher education, geography, and good and evil…without even being aware that he is learning.
I am developing “Holy Cards.” This is a turn-based card and dice game about creating and forgiving debt. I am halfway through the creation of game, I have designed cards, created the game play, written the rules, and researched production methods.
We need your support to create this game as the price breaks are by 500 and 1000 units. I would like to start with 1000 units. When the game catches on, the initial run versions are sure to be collector’s items.
The starter kit is all you need to begin game play. As I imagine it today, the starter kit is complete with a card deck, rules, score pad and polyhedral dice. Then there will be booster packs that will come with cards not found in the starter kit. For a pledge of $25, you will receive 2 booster packs. For a pledge of $100, you will receive the complete starter kit. For a pledge of $200, you will receive the complete starter kit and all available booster packs.
This game has many positive aspects, from learning history and science, to Christianity and the Bible. Also, there is inherent learning that is not obvious to the game player. It can be played by as few as 2 players, to as many as 8.
I am seeking a target goal of $25,000 to produce the initial run of games. If we don’t reach our goal, I’ll get nothing, the game will not be produced, and there will be great sorrow throughout the land.
Thank you everyone who believes in this project, “Holy Cards!”
Risks and challenges
I do not foresee any timeline risks. In terms of budgeting, if my project is funded, I also do not foresee any risks. Once the prototype is completed, I will seek legal consultation for the game and its associated business - there may be some advice given on alterations needed to be made prior to the initial run. However, I will correct all concerns brought to my attention by the advisors.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
