Baggage is a whimsical romantic comedy about checking all the things that weigh us down most. Here's the logline: "At a special type of baggage claim where people go to check their emotional issues, one young man is trying to reclaim his lost luggage."
The movie was shot outside of Washington, DC in March of 2012. The crew consisted of a talented group all volunteering their time. The good news is that we did it...the movie is done. Now, we're about to start the process of festival submission. All contributions will go towards festival entry fees, shipping, and other distribution costs.
So...um...why contribute if the movie is done?
Simple: festivals are expensive. The amount spent on festival entry fees could easily eclipse the small budget we made the entire movie for. Help us get Baggage out there and on the big screen.
Yeah...but who actually made it?
Baggage was written, directed, and edited by Ivan Kander. Ivan works professionally in video production as a videographer, motion graphic artist, and video editor in Washington, DC. He's the recent recipient of the 2012 Sgt. William Genaust Award for documentary film from the Marine Corps. Heritage Foundation for his documentary, Survive. Recover. Live. He is also a contributing writer at the popular website, Short of the Week.
Cinematographer Nathan Golon is an award winning DP and filmmaker, whose work has been seen at major media outlets across the world. Additional production help was provided by Joey Walker, the top Jib, crane, and camera operator in the entire Washington, DC region. The movie has an original musical score composed by the talented Ben Schwartz and stars three great, local actors, Rob Mueller, Chelsie Lloyd, and Erin Bennett.
I still want more info!
