Two singer/songwriters (Johanna Chase and Tin Santos), an Illustrator (Andress Yourself), a filmmaker (Ryan Maxey), and friends are taking to the road on The I Heart People Tour, a tour with stops at 7 cities along the West Coast that aims to share music, art, and spread the word on urban intentional community living!

On a veggie oil/solar powered bus, our crew will depart from our home in Los Angeles: The BLVD, a community of more than 30 friends in 5 houses, including Synchronicity LA. Recently featured in an article in GOOD Magazine, Synchronicity LA is part of an intentional community in LA that focuses on "generating community through hospitality, intentionality, artistic action, and a dedication to the reduction of harm."

We hope to share the spirit of community by hosting bus-side potlucks in each city before each gig played by Johanna and her band. Bring some food to share, and join us around the bus for music from Tin Santos, live screen printing (tour shirts) by Andress Yourself, photo booth portraits on the front of the bus provided by Maxey Fish and Sea Reels, and you can add some color with your paintbrush skills to the community mural on the side of our bus! Underlying all of the fun, we want share community and original expression!

How it will all go down...

We will update the I Heart People Tour Facebook event before each stop to let you know when we’ll be rolling through and where we will park our bus. All you have to do is bring yourself, some friends, and if you’re feeling the community spirit, something to share!

We've been working hard to plan and prepare this tour for months:

We've got a vegetable oil and solar-powered bus
We've got our skilled vegetable oil mechanic
We've got our crew assembled
We've got the gigs lined up from LA to Seattle

Why we need your help...

The only thing we need to make this tour a reality is your support to keep the bus rolling: $1500

The bus is a machine with many moving parts that will likely require a little maintenance during our trip. We've set aside some personal money, but need a little help obtaining the rest of the funds to make sure we don't end up living on the bus on the side of the Interstate 5 somewhere in Oregon...which could be cool...but not what we're going for on this trip :)

With your generous support, we’ll be able to make it to all 7 stops, share our music, our art and community spirit! Take a look along the right, and you’ll see all of the cool things you could have! For your pledge, you’ll receive one of these very nice gifts and probably feel pretty good about yourself!

Translator, Johanna Chase's fifth independent release, was recorded in conjunction with 305e in Azusa, CA. In short, Translator is the manifestation of Chase's collaboration with Robert DeLong, childhood friend and fellow rain expert. Robert DeLong(drums), Matthew Lee(bass) and Matt Knapil(sax) have been Chase's backing band in the Los Angeles area since 2007. The band's contributions of musicianship and alchemy are the magnetism in the motor of sound that helps drive Chase's songs on Translator. The contributions of Huit Kilos, Congolese soukous guitar, are layered throughout the record, as well. Other contributions include, Joey Ryan (on Na Na Na and Flashlight), Jaime Rosas (Jesus Hung), Samuel Pullen (Devils in the Details and Chasing Layers) and Shawn Morones (You).
