Very disappointed with this. I understand wanting the best product, but after stunts like mighty no. 9 and other projects, delays may indicate that you got in way over your head. I hope that the end product is as good as we hope but it doesn't make this any easier for us the consumer especially after being told there would little to no delays. I can only hope my money and my trust was well placed. but this is bad in my opinion regardless of how it's spun.

Thank you for being open about delays. For high-profile campaigns such as this, transparency is paramount. I for one am in no rush, as my backlog of games is large enough to last me quite some time. So please take your time to ensure a high-quality product, one that delivers on all promises.

I'm as disappointed as anybody here, but I'm afraid more than anything.

I'm afraid for the Wii U version coming out with the delay kicking the whole project back so far. I hope that Iga and the team doesn't cancel it down the line especially after making it a stretch goal to begin with. I'm just... scared now.

Ill be honest this is pretty upsetting - with as much money as this project raised and the amount of support...

    9. Joe Miskell on

I hope you and your team are well and find someway to make this a game worth coming back too for years just like Symphony of the night was

    10. Elissar Saleeba on

Iga, we trust you. You're being open and we want this to be the best possible game. Just keep us informed of these decisions and most of us will be okay with it.

Completely okay with pushing it back; we need a GOOD castlevania spiritual successor, and no better than Iga can ensure it, I'm sure of it! So take your time, craft a masterpiece that we can enjoy and remember.

    12. George on

Iga i'm a patient man. Don't rush and take your time, I'll wait as long as it takes. :)

Take your time i want a good game the way you imagine it :)

    14. Robert on

Take.Your.Time. Make it the game we deserve, not the game we need right now.

    15. Dustin Gisclair on

I'm okay with this, as I thought the initial timeline was way too short to make a decent game with such a small team. On the other hand, an extended development timeline also means the need for a larger budget. I'd assume that hopefully with the funds from kickstarter plus the support from Deep Silver this project is getting, that money should not become a major issue.

    16. Justin Anzelone on

I'm fine with this. Take your time, make it good!

    17. Frank Zarychta on

Don't rush it. Too many games have been ruined because they had to meet deadlines and made drastic cuts to content, polish, and/or bug testing. I don't want this game to suffer the same fate.

    18. SixVicious on

Don't be desperate, guys. As long as I don't want to seem like Konami, this delay it's ok. I also want to play this game but, just take one more look at all features Bloodstained will have. Isn't worth it?

This is why Iga came to Kickstarter. To stop a company being pushing him (and his team) of simply getting a milestone date leaving back the quality and more important, the fun of a game.

For the love of the vgame (:

What? Are you freaking kidding me?
And don't give us excuses like that.. **feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can** Well, you should first respect your words. Because you dont feel responsible to respect your timing. When I back a project, I want the devs to respect what they promised.
      Man, a year + delay.....

      Shame on you.

I don't even know if I'll be alive fon that date :/ , I really want to play it

    22. Mark Winiarski on

A 3 month delay? Sure...6 month delay? Ummm OK...1 year+ delay? That is absurd...

    23. Genya Alucard on

I can wait. Thank you for your honesty Mr. IGA.

    24. Bradley Genaw on

Id rather see this than already start to see special editions on Gamestop showing up for the game. With so many disappointments in gaming lately. This is an excellent move and I support this decision. Of course I want the game, but if it turns out to be like Mighty No. 9 or No Man's Sky. Everything will be lost. This is one of the few games I still have any hope for. Please for the sake of fans everywhere. Please make this game into everything you want it to be.

      Wondercrab on

I am more than happy to wait as long as it takes for the game to be polished up to the standard it deserves. Delays are never a bad thing in my mind, especially not when they're communicated openly and early on. If anything they're a sign that the developers care about making the game as good as it possibly can be.

    26. Missing avatar

      Aeon on

When I backed this project I was signing on to see a vision of Iga's made into a reality. To see that vision realized in a way that doesn't satisfy his own standards of quality would be a disappointment at best. I can easily, eagerly wait for 2018 if that's what it takes to see this come to life in the way it deserves.

    27. Luke Anderson on

IGA, your honesty, openess, and desire to keep us in the loop is admirable! Every one of us has a love and invested interest in this game that's only matched by your own. This project succeeded so far beyond initial expectations, that something like this was only natural to occur. With so many features, mechanics, and goals this game has established, I'm more than happy to wait and see Bloodstained perfected in the way you've always dreamt of. You all still have my full support just as much as you did when I first pledged. Keep up the amazing work everyone!

A great desicion. I prefer delays every day over a lower quality game. Take the time you guys need, don't rush it for our sake.

      SimonSay on

yes, yes I think delay game is not so bad. Like what Shigeru Miyamoto say "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever." Also, don't rush it.

    30. Goran Botic on

@Alejandro I think it was mostly a disconnect when it came to Mighty No. 9. They did try to communicate with backers, but it wasn't very efficient and effective. I'm hoping they improve upon that for next time, as I still have faith in Inafking. I feel that Bloodstained will be different, and will be a success. I've always believed in Iga.

I support this delay, and by all means, don't be afraid to take your time. Let a few backers get frustrated from delays, they'll get the game in the end anyways. Just make it the way you have it envisioned in your head and I've got no doubt Bloodstained will come out as a success Iga!

    31. Alejandro Anaya on

Yes, please learn from Mighty No.9 and have solid communication, and give realistic expectations. Its better to not give a date, and just say its done when its done, rather than keep pushing back dates like Mighty No.9 did and upset everyone. Honestly, a lot can be learned from that project (not the game) and the lack of overall communication.

Thank you IGA and Team for keeping us in the loop and decision making through voting! I am also looking forward to hearing some new tunes!

    32. Marko Lindroos on

Take all the time you need, I'm confident that you'll make a great game! Keep up the good work!

I'm OK with this, as long as there are regular development updates it, and that this ensures the game will be made to the best of your abilities and meet, and hopefully surpass, our expectations.

Oh, and as someone here already mentioned, please don't water down the quality of the game because of the PS Vita port, don't make the PS Vita port drag down the quality of the game on the other platforms so as to make the quality on all platforms equal, please. Seriously.

I have complete faith that you’re doing the right thing to deliver an excellent game. Take whatever time you need.

    36. Edward Farkhiev on

There was zero doubt in my mind this game (like almost every other KS game) would be late. I just want the best game possible. Take your time to craft a work of art.

Us backers are all with you!

    37. Excited Designer on

All I need is regular progress reports until the game is released and my backer 'gifts' met. When is not an issue, since there are a lot of games coming out this year and next that I want to play. Thank you for the updates. You guys are doing some good work. Would be great to see some of what the devs and designers are producing these days.

    38. Eric Pescatore on

I am ok with this because of the damn fine Caricature of Iga... i mean who can say no to that face! Though 2018 does pain me, one would hope a 1Q release.

    39. Billy Chin on

A beta version to tryout around 2017 would please us all, literally.

jajaj this is really... how to say it... Courious?
This subject is a topic in my conversations with my brother about the gamers, what they expect, the limits date, that kind of stuff...

I express openly to him that i am a gamer of patience and prefer to wait to recive a mid-developed game or a "deception".
I'll trusth in IGA and wait with my heart open =D

Greetings to the community and thanks for yours efforts team of "BloodStained: Ritual of the Night"

    47. janju on

No big deal as long as the final product is comparable to SotN!

    48. Siranoid on

It sucks that it we need to wait for 2018, but that's not a big price to pay if the game will be at it's best and fun to play upon release.

    49. André Marshall on

Take your time folks. Id rather have a totally awesome game, instead of a nearly totally awesome game! :)
