The demo game is great but I'm having some frame skipping issues. I understand this is an early build but I'm thinking it might be because of my system. I have a PC running Win 10, AMD FX 8350, 16 GBs of RAM, and a GTX 970. I tried 1080P, 900P, and even 720P resolutions and same thing. Might not be optimized just yet.

I love how you try to make it even more retro ! All these 8-bit tracks, the retro mode, the 8-bit ! I cannot wait to find secrets inside the IGA's biggest castle ! Let us make it more and more epic !

    3. Darmin Hadzic on

Oh wow, you guys got Jake Kaufman? I'm actually getting pretty hyped here!

    4. Jeremy Anderson on

I love the wallpapers! However, does the one with Miriam have a white line on the right for everyone else?

I was holding out for the Wii U port since I feared it might be too lofty, but $3mil is definitely happening so take my money! :D

      Proof for the unbelievers:

@Malek Sony Sabotaged themselves with the Vita in so many ways. It's not a powerful system at all. In fact it's woefully UNDERpowered for what it's trying to do and the resolution it's trying to drive.

Rarely do games run at both Native resolution and at a stable framerate. You can't say that about the 3DS. Rarely do games NOT run at native resolution with a stable framerate IN 3D no less. And the same with the PSP. Games 99.99/100 times ran at native resolution with decent framerates that didn't have major problems (Even better since you could OC the CPU for better performance with CFW). Compare Project Diva on the PSP with Project Diva F on the Vita. Diva F doesn't run at native resolution and looks soooo bad.

For one, they should've used a 720x408 display native resolution instead of 960x544 display.
This more conservative resolution would've given vastly better results in terms of game performance and image quality. While still maintaining proper integer scaling for PSP games.
      (960x544 = 2x2 of 480x272. 720x408 is 1.5x1.5 of 480x272).

They also screwed consumers and PSP users who actually supported the system from day 1 by buying UMDs, relied on 3G gimmicks and so on.

They lied about games having on board flash for saving games, requiring you to purchase insanely over priced proprietary memory cards to just play a game period.

The barrier of entry with all of that was ridiculous compared to the 3DS for something so bad. Which CAME with an SD card, had onboard storage, AND had on board flash for games to save without a memory card AND maintained almost full compatibility with the DS library physically.

Then there's managing media. You have to use an application which forces you to have a constant internet connection in order to use any media you have locally on your PC. The transfer rates were abysmal to add to it.
Some PSP and PS1 games were and still aren't available directly from the Vita even though they are compatible. You have to have a PS3 in addition to be able to play those.

      The list goes on.

It would be cool if there was a edit mode or creation mode so we can create our own classic stages or something like that if that's possible. Or perhaps have the opportunity to create and share them so people can download the custom stages and play. It would certainly add some more replay value.

    11. Metafaniel Cyodar on

About the 6 tiny stretch goals for 8-bit music tracks unveiled, will we get those tunes in later updates as soon as they're unlocked? Or we will have to wait until the game is released to be able to listen to them in Classic Mode?
I'd be awesome if you could add them to the campaign section as the other sample music, even if you share only a preview.

    12. David Stephens

And come on castle inversion alternate ending! Sure, they did that in SOTN, but that was simply amazing and it should be repeated. :D

    13. Malek on

@Joshua Amador - "Vita 2" happening is very, very unlikely because, sadly, Vita 1 was a major burn for Sony. It's a nice console with a lot of power but that very same power meant higher cost, higher cost meant less people buying and less people buying meant developers were less interested in putting games on it, which looped back to less people buying Vita.

...and the costly proprietary memory cards didn't help either. Still love mine to pieces <3

It is the Wii U. Brightened, nothing else could possibly have that kind of logo

    15. SweetTaLe on

Big castle? Oh my oh my, I hope we reach that goal because a bigger castle to explore would be FANTASTIC!

    16. Brandon on

Guys, I made this for everyone who is skeptical about the $3 million goal not being Wii U. I don't know how you could dismiss this:

      Be sure to spread it.

The biggest castle ever, fine ultra great quality 8-bit music with Virt, Yamane and Yamada..... Bloodstained don't stop surprising me! It's gettin getter and better AND BETTER everyday *_*

=D At long last!! Jake Kaufman and Michiru Yamane working together! How I've waited for this day to come!

What's more, it's no fantasy to imagine that this will be a commercial success even after the KS campaign. Once the concurrent users numbers start pouring in at Sony, they'll pay HIM to get this on the Vita, (presuming there isn't a Vita 2 in 2017).

    22. Jacksukeru on

Promise of a bigger castle, now THAT'S a stretch goal I can get behind. I already started this campaign with the largest pledge I had ever made, so I'm gonna have to wait unil the finale to up it som more.

I do like how conservative the stretchgoals have been though, more than anything I want this game to be a real solid "one of those" not weighed down by feature creep. Making the game better/more polished in increments isn't as sexy a bulletpoint though, so it's easy to see how some would overpromise to get to higher tiers.

Either way, this game is far off, hope ya'll can make it a cool one. Good Luck!

    23. C Jim Teoh on

The game is planned for March 2017 release, while the Kickstarter ends this June.
And not all the stretch goals are shown yet...
Just wait till the backers reach the "Show all basement stretch goals" achievement?

    24. Sector94 on

I kept waiting but it seems there will be no PS Vita stretch goal... Time for me to cancel my pledge then.

    25. Jákup Fuglø

Make a stretch goal for Shantae to be an unlockable character. She's already got her own whip :P

    26. José Manuel on

Congratulations, IGA and co!! I'm really happy for you

    27. Brandon on

@James, please don't be one of those people that want them to rush development so that the game gets here quicker. I'd much prefer they take all the time they need to deliver an amazing game rather than rush and it be broken or lackluster. There are plenty of great games coming out soon. Be patient.

Woohoo, thanks for the great Wallpapers. In general I am not hyped about a game so I can't be dissapointed but... I'm really freaked out for this, because I have faith Iga can make another awesome game.

PS: I have no WiiU, but the 3 Million Goal looks achievable to me. Remember the majority of backers drop by in the beginning and end of any campaign ;)

3mil is the WiiU stretch goal. At least, it really looks like it when playing around with brightness and contrast:

    31. Marek Homsi Andráši on

I would love this game to be for WiiU, but if it isn't 3mil stretch, I am sceptical we will ever reach it...:/

    34. Ben Judd on

      @Stephen Tang

Actually we didn't. We felt the 500,000 goal was achievable (although IGA-san was understandably nervous) and thought that if everything went perfectly we'd hit 1 million. Needless to say after day one all of us had to hold a snap meeting to readjust and add new goals. And that was only on about 0 - 3 hours of sleep for most of the people attached.

That's a great wallpaper but the pixel-wide gap on the right side is driving my OCD up the wall.

    36. Anthony Layna on

And not only does it look like WiiU for 3M, but I doubt it's the last goal. Upgraded my pledge to put a couple extra dollars in :D

    37. John on

3mil clearly looks like the Wii U logo in 8-bit style after looking at it closely like several others have said. If that is the case I will be VERY pleased. To 3mil people!

Biggest Castle ever? LET'S DO IT!

    42. JetStrange on

@ Siefried Tigno, from the looks of it.... Might not be i mean think about it... the next goal is "biggest castle" So I don't think so and Sorry for the people that might want this on Wii U. NOW on the other hand.... it might be in the 4,000,000 but then again it could be 3,000,000 mark..but who knows.

You know what to do people!

    44. Carlos Oporto on

@James A. Calwell III seems that the increase will only be 25% so that's a thing that a team like Inti Creates can handle.

    45. Carlos Oporto on

I would love to know if the 25% increase of the size castle is compared to the normal Symphony of the Castle or both castles normal and inverted.

It's likely Iga had already planned the full roadmap of features in advance before he started the campaign. So, I don't think any of these stretch goals were made up recently.
