Pick one of Shakespeare’s greatest heroes and battle his villains in this semi-cooperative board game. The game play’s the thing!
MEET THE CREATORS OF KILL SHAKESPEARE
ABOUT THE GAME:
Kill Shakespeare is an epic adventure that will change the way you look at Shakespeare forever.
In this dark tale, the Bard’s most famous heroes embark upon a journey to discover a long-lost soul. Hamlet, Juliet, Othello, Falstaff and Captain Cesario search for a reclusive wizard who may have the ability to assist them in their battle against the evil forces led by the villains Richard III, Lady Macbeth and Iago. That reclusive wizard? William Shakespeare.
In Kill Shakespeare, you and 3 of your friends will join together to free the kingdom from the clutches of the forces of Richard III. You will compete to liberate cities, remove his influence from the land and complete quests to wrest control from the vile King Richard.
You will use your own influence to grow your army and steal troop movement letters and city plans in order to liberate the cities that have been occupied by Richard and Lady Macbeth’s forces. You must be careful, however, because not all of your companions can be trusted. You must beware that the vile Iago will steal your own plans and report your troop movements to your sworn enemies.
Throughout the game you will be given quests by the likes of Puck, Shakespeare and other favorite characters from the pages of William Shakespeare's great plays. These quests and events will weave a deep narrative created by the writers of the Kill Shakespeare comic book that bring you even deeper into the engrossing world of the award-winning comic.
While only one of the heroes can rule the day, you will need to work together to ensure that Richard doesn't overrun the realm, that Lady Macbeth doesn't ensnare your rebellion and that Iago doesn't gain the knowledge of Shakespeare’s whereabouts.
In this world, your enemies have a single goal. Kill Shakespeare. It’s up to you and your friends to Battle for the Bard.

Kill Shakespeare is an area control board game from the designers of the critically acclaimed, Yedo. Players will participate in auction drafts to acquire resources in order to liberate territories from the forces of King Richard and Lady Macbeth. Resource management will be highly important as players will need to not just be working toward individual goals, if they don't come together to defeat Richard and prevent him from finding the bard, all will be lost.

KILL SHAKESPEARE BOARD GAME DESIGNERS:
Wolf Plancke & Thomas Vande Ginste designed Kill Shakespeare as the follow-up to the well-reviewed and now sold-out YEDO.
Tom Vasel of Dicetower had this to say about Yedo, "I LOVE this game. I was so happy to play this. […] Love the artwork, love the theme. It is one I am going to keep, it’s a game I was really enamored with for a number of reasons.”
Both designers live in Belgium, and when Thomas Vande Ginste isn't designing games he's fighting fires for the Bruges fire department.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
While this is our first kickstarter project, IDW Publishing has a long history of delivery timely, high-quality content to fans around the globe. But with each new project, there are new challenges that we could face. Shipping delays can happen. We've been working with our printer to ensure he follows a tight timeline.
The artwork for the game is complete. The only assets left to finalize are the kickstarter exclusive limited-edition pledge items.
Thanks for your support.
Just raise your pledge amount by the corresponding value of the item you'd like to add.
For example, if you'd like a set of Iago's Tavern Dice and you were an early bird, you would select the $40 pledge tier for an early copy of the game then enter in a manual pledge amount of $65. ($40 for the game plus the $25 for the tavern dice.)
We want to be honest here - it's definitely not designed for it. With some adjustments the game could be solo'ed if need be. You'd have to pull out some easy quests, because you'd be working together perfectly on resources instead of out auctioning each other for V.P's. We can't it'd be the ideal experience, but hey, sometimes getting a group together's tough and you just have to run it solo.
We're going to talk to the designers about some variant rules possibilities. This question has come up a bunch and we will try to do an update or have a conversation on bgg where the designers can say what they think.
