CONSORTIUM IS HERE

Finally!

As of right now, CONSORTIUM v1.0 is available for all "Gimme the Game" backers and higher.

The game is available on your own personal Humble Bundle page:   Go HERE and enter in the email you used to back us here on Kickstarter to get access!

It is also now on Steam!  Here is a cool image for you, specifically designed for Facebook (in case, you know, you wanted to help spread the word that the game is now available!)

Steam keys?

We are offering Steam keys to all backers at the $10 level and higher.  We have sent out surveys to you all, and we have started sending out keys.    However we chose the wrong method to get you keys (individually pasting a key into an email to each and every one of you...), and it's taking forever.  We also just ran out of keys and requested a ton more (we underestimated how many of you have Steam accounts!).

Anyways, we are looking into getting the rest of you keys who want one via Humble's page, BUT will continue the individual method if necessary.  Either way, we promise to get you a Steam key if you want one before the week is out.    Thanks so much for your patience!

What about all the other rewards?

So now that the game is "done"  (we're still working on it and will be patching it post launch!), we will shifting our focus to all the goodies we promised you last year.  We are actually very excited about the posters, t-shirts, soundtrack, the Kickstarter only Special Edition AND the iDGi-1 Discoveries PDF that we have in the works.     Generally speaking, we are aiming to wrap up production and complete and ship all the remaining rewards before the end of February.   We care very deeply about these things, and though they are coming very late, we promise that you won't be disappointed with the quality of the stuff.    So, specifics:

  • The Kickstarter Only Special Edition and DVD.  We are very excited about this.  We are planning for this version to make use of the in-game developer "commentary" system, and everyone on the dev team will be contributing to make this something special.  The version of the game itself will also be 1.1, meaning it will include all the fixes that we will be making over the next few weeks, post-launch, so this DVD should truly be a great keep-sake.  Also, everyone in the $17 level and higher will receive a special download on Humble Bundle when it is available.
  • T-shirts and posters.  These are all designed, and we will now be choosing precisely who to use to get them produced - extreme high quality is our goal with these.
  • Official Consortium Soundtrack.    Getting the official soundtrack made and sent to everyone make take a little while, but we're working with Jeremy on this.  It will be worth the wait, we promise!
  • iDGi-1 Discoveries.   Now that the game is out, Steve will be able to focus his efforts on finishing this off for you all.  It will be the ultimate guide to everything we know about the other universe thus far...

That about sums it up at this moment - we will keep you updated on the status of all the remaining rewards.

We're already getting reports that the game isn't as bug free as we hoped it was, and so we will be continuing to work to iron out the issues and patch the game.   But...regardless....it's been one helluva journey, and we owe reaching the finish line to all you amazing backers!!

Your support, patience and general awesomeness will never be forgotten!  This is our first Kickstarter AND our first product launch as a company...suffice it to say, we've learned a lot.

For those of you about to jump into the game, we truly hope you enjoy your experience!

Sincerely,

-The iDGi and CONSORTIUM team

Jeff: We sent you your Steam key on January 10th, 2014 via a message here on Kickstarter. I agree that's pretty annoying if KS did not prompt you about that message when we sent it!! Let me know if you don't see it for some odd reason...?

    2. Creator Jeff Espejo on April 25

... kickstarter sucks for not letting people know they have a message :S - I've been depending on all my ks update via email...

    3. Creator Jeff Espejo on April 25

:S - I just found out the game was released... (I honestly forgot I backed) - and looking through my email the last thing I was expecting was a steam key >.< - anyway I can still get one so I can add this to my steam account.

    4. Creator Gregory Jordan on January 10, 2014

yes. Im seeing version 0.995 from the humble bundle version.

    5. Creator Dude on January 10, 2014

no steam key on humble bundle for me, $10 tier

    6. Creator david lewis on January 10, 2014

Actually Shane-o, it was even easier than that for me. I got iDGi to send me the link for the backer humble bundle page. After I linked to the page, right in the middle was click here button to get my Steam Key. I clicked the button and my key showed up. Downloading now . . .

    7. Creator Jacki Rountree on January 10, 2014

Oh wow. I wish that someone had pointed out the steam key thing sooner. Thank you, Shane-o

    8. Creator Gregory Jordan on January 10, 2014

"Anyways, we are looking into getting the rest of you keys who want one via Humble's page" So that means you'll be updating the humble page to get us the steam key?

    9. Creator Shane-o - WoOS on January 10, 2014

People asking about Steam keys... scroll down a little and you'll see Fredrik Åström wrote the following:

"I managed to get a steam key for Consortium through Humble Bundle...
      1) Goto "My Library" on humble bundle.
      2) Scroll down to "All Your Purchases" and then under "Widget Purchases" you should see Consortium there. (I see "CONSORTIUM ($25+ Tier)")
      3) When you clicked it you should see a page where you can get a steam key... Or just download it normally..."

    10. Creator aselto on January 10, 2014

Has everybody received a key by now? I've yet to receive mine and I seriously wonder if something's wrong... Surely it's not that difficult to assign Steam keys to Humble website accounts?

    11. Creator david lewis on January 10, 2014

      Still no Steam Key . . . . :-(

    12. Creator Revery123 on January 10, 2014

Thanks for the keys and congratulations on the game! Does anyone know if the game is compatible with the Oculus Rift? I saw they mentioned the concept in the initial kickstarter page, but I don't see any more on the subject. This game is begging for some Oculus Rift immersion goodness!

    13. Creator BattleMage on January 10, 2014

I'm running HB Version 1.0 and it also shows 0.995.

    14. Creator Zombra on January 10, 2014

Both the initial loading screen and the title screen say v0.995.

    15. Creator Zombra on January 10, 2014

      Thanks! Steam validation error circumvented!

    16. Creator Interdimensional Games Inc on January 10, 2014

Thanks for all the awesome feedback and comments! Please keep them coming, and know that we will not rest until all the bugs have been fixed.

Also, RE Steam keys: To those in the $10 and $15 tiers, due to an error on our part, we have had to manually send each and every key to all of you, which has been time consuming. Two of us have been doing this as much as we can, and we're on track to have them all to you before the week is out.

Also: "My torrented version oddly shows v0.995." - Do you mean the front-end says 0.995? Is everyone running the HB version seeing this?

    17. Creator Interdimensional Games Inc on January 10, 2014

"I also got a "Steam validation failed" error; I cannot access the satellite. :(" This is because you had Steam running. Quit Steam, and the game should run fine.

    18. Creator Zombra on January 10, 2014

      Congratulations on the release!

My torrented version oddly shows v0.995.

I also got a "Steam validation failed" error; I cannot access the satellite. :(

I ran into a showstopper, but I really enjoyed the game.

    20. Creator Sztripi on January 9, 2014

So... I have played the game for some time now. Consortium is brilliant. No I really mean it. It is brilliant. There are bugs. Annoying bugs. But as far as they are concerned I have confidence in you guys. You have promised and delivered. I hope that the game will also be a huge financial success. By the gods, so far this game is better than most AAA titles.

    21. Creator Robert Small on January 9, 2014

Well done to all of the Dev team! Consortium is really here now!!!
Will download the 1.0 ver tonight...Very excited for you all and well done to all us backers too!
Can't wait to receive my T-Shirt (and everything else from the $90 Bishops Pledge level), I'll wear it with great pride that's for sure (or maybe I'll frame it for true prosperity!!)

    22. Creator ThomasN on January 9, 2014

First of all, congratulations to the launch, I'll try it out tonight.
As a minor second point, I'd like to stress that I don't like any kind of ingame-exclusives, so this means, I wouldn't have backed you if I knew that from the start.

    23. Creator Interdimensional Games Inc on January 9, 2014

Just wanted to add - we are only aware of the bugs because of all the people now playing the game and finding them. They are all fixable!

    24. Creator Interdimensional Games Inc on January 9, 2014

We are painfully aware of all the bugs we shipped with, and are working to fix ASAP. You will all get a big patch for the non Steam version as well.

RE: "IMHO "The game itself will be identical to the game you get in lower tiers - ONLY the main menu is changed"
      doesen't go together with
"in-game developer commentary system". That is true, but we really wanted to give back to you backers something special, as a big THANK-YOU for your support. So we decided to work to make the special edition something truly special. :-)

To anyone else having the same problem, exiting steam fixes it.

    27. Creator Mathias Scarborough on January 9, 2014

So, despite downloading the game from the humble page, I can't play the game because every time I try to start the game it says it failed steam validation, anyone else having this issue?

    28. Creator Klezzon on January 9, 2014

      Steam Key ? Yessss !

    29. Creator Laurent Maire on January 9, 2014

Big day! Congratulations. Couldn't be happier to have backed you guys to the finish line. Hope you're all enjoying a well deserved glass of something cold and fizzy.

I managed to get a steam key for Consortium through Humble Bundle...

    31. Creator Marek Tvrdý on January 9, 2014

I've backed 65 dollars for game (EARLY BIRD "CONSORTIUM ROOK") + DVD + Documentary. I wanted also physical soundtrack but it was obvious that target set in "CONSORTIUM BISHOP" pledge will not be reached. There was some other possibility how to get the physical soundtrack?

    32. Creator ET3D on January 9, 2014

Ah, got it. I had claimed it before, so there was no need to do it again.

    33. Creator ET3D on January 9, 2014

Funny, I went to the Humble Bundle library, clicked the + for "Claim Past Purchases", and what I saw there was Broken Age. Completely threw me off, since I expected Consortium. (The Broken Age page is empty though, nothing there yet.) I'll try the key resender, though normall the "Claim Past Purchases" method works.

    34. Creator Dog on January 9, 2014

Despite some other people's reports, at my end, I seem to have gotten only DRM free version in my Humble Store account. So, probably, what the devs need to do is to check out what they did and hopefully send Steam key to us, $10 and up pledgers who answered "yes" to the survey, still waiting for the key. Since they promised to solve the issue till the weekend, it's not a big deal to me.-Just reporting how things turned out at my end.

Just checked out if the game works or not and, yeah, the game seems to be fine and my liking, which is why I supported this one, a narrative-heavy game with reactive characters/ world. As I wrote, I was just reporting since it would be a shame if the game got bad reputation just because of this. Keep up the good work.

    35. Creator Duncan on January 9, 2014

Hmmm, I don't seem to see any link to download or key when I go to the Humble Store page.

    36. Creator kertitorpe on January 9, 2014

@Revery123: Yes, there are cards, played only a few minutes (key arrived at midnight) and already got one. Game definitely looks promising, only there is some kind of audio looping during disk access, did not experience such thing in ages in any game.

    37. Creator Louhikarme on January 9, 2014

Good stuff, can't wait to play the game.

    38. Creator Cesar Gonzalez on January 9, 2014

Congratulations, can't wait to play the game on Steam

    39. Creator Tyson on January 9, 2014

Congratulations on the launch. Just wanted to chime in to confirm what Dmitrij found - I answered yes to the Steam key survey a few hours ago but just checked my Humble Bundle account and was able to generate and activate a Steam key there. No emailed key needed here!

    40. Creator Dmitrij Bugajev on January 9, 2014

Guys, you don't need to send out the keys manually, because Humble Bundle generates them automatically. At the moment you are just giving away a free 2nd copy of the game. Hope you read this on time. :(

    41. Creator JS on January 8, 2014

      Great news! Downloading now.

    42. Creator Revery123 on January 8, 2014

For the Steam version, do you guys offer cards for the game?
