Matt & Alex met in business school where they built an apparel company together and learned real entrepreneurship on the fly.
It was a small business, but the duo was just getting warmed up. In the years following their passion for entrepreneurship yielded a vast array of new businesses including software, mobile apps, web apps, retail products, a media firm and even public speaking engagements.
Through it all though, they relentlessly generated new business ideas and compiled an enormous list of all their ideas - so enormous in fact, that they believe it to be the largest in the world (though this is not yet verified).
Idea Jab began as Matt’s YouTube channel wherein he was sharing one of his own new business ideas everyday, but from the onset the duo knew it was merely a launchpad for something bigger. The two would meet regularly to discuss their ideas when one day it dawned on them that perhaps ‘business ideas’ could BE the business!
They knew that they had a unique ability to generate new ideas, but it wasn’t until they started researching this field, that they really comprehended how challenging the art of generating quality new business ideas is for so many others.
Their research included reading hundreds of books, locating and compiling data from every forum, blog & social network where term’s like “how do I generate new business ideas” were included, and even conducting surveys of thousands of American’s to find out the truth about business ideas.
The Idea Jab game has been their full time job for over 6 months now, and they've had an absolute blast bringing it to life.
Everything you see here is the result of their own hard work.
Nothing was outsourced (except for manufacturing).
Matt created the videos and designed the artwork, website, this page, the cards and the packaging (and tirelessly worked with manufacturers to ensure that the end product precisely reflected his artwork).
And Alex spent hours every day sharing the concept with real humans, collecting data, gathering feedback and generating a buzz around town.
Matt & Alex here!
This game means everything to us because it's really just the first piece of the puzzle.
If we reach our goal we'll be able to unleash an extensive line of related products that we think will completely overhaul how entrepreneurship is both taught and learned.
If you think this game was creative, wait until you hear about our plans for the app world & the digital space!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Risks and challenges
The tests are done, the manufacturers are ready and the game itself is ready to be played!
The biggest challenge for us would be if you showered us with overwhelming support because order fulfillment becomes increasingly challenging as order quantities go up. We've spent a lot of time working with manufacturers to ensure that we can deliver on time, but unexpected delays and challenges could arise. To help prevent this though, we do plan on giving the green light to our manufacturers as soon as we've reached our initial goal.
In any case, we'll update you at every step of the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
