About this project

Where is the heart of a city? It’s in the stranger that passes by with a smile, the young boy you over look running down the street, even the homeless woman sitting on the ground. That's the heart of the city.  Los Angeles is very unique. Everyone's face tells a different story so there's tons of stories to tell. LOS CONIC is ironic that it's not about celebrities and famous people, it's about capturing the essence of L.A. by paying homage to the everyday people who populate this great city.

Giving the average person a chance to be immortalized in a painting or posted around town as street art. What I plan to do is go around town finding the most interesting faces I can find snap a photo and paint them or turn them into a wheat paste poster. Once I find them take a snap shot, get his/her contact info I'll formally invite them to be a VIP of the exhibit.

Goal

The goal of my exhibit is to showcase my work and give a face to the average citizen of Los Angeles. Giving them a voice and serving to open up dialogue in the community about the importance of fine art and street art. Providing people with information on the various areas around the city and it's history, I plan to create an open forum that will not only provide an arena for artists, locals and officials, but also progressively educate citizens and protect the relationship of Los Angeles to its most valued cultural contributors the artist.

Thanks for checking out my Kickstarter page, and with your support let's make it possible to view this overlooked world of L.A.

Proceeds from the show will be donated to epath.org
