Little operating system survey

Hey everyone,

We're trying to get a sense of what OS's people are going to want to use light table on so we can focus on the most important ones first. Mind filling in this survey? It's only one question :)

Am I missing something? The $15 pledge is for a license for light table, then a $30 pledge is for the T-shirt. But the T-shirt+license is $80?

Guys, don't pick up that much MacOS, europe users are doomed because mac will not run on virtualbox and we cant install it on our hardware either :D ... and still this is just preliminary for alpha stages I would guess, I'm sure betas (which can be used) will be for more OS's .. :)

    18. JMatt Peterson on May 26, 2012

      I'm also seeing the error:

"Sorry, but this form is no longer accepting submissions."

in order of use: Mac, Linux, iOS, Windows.

That was a bit quick! I've only just seen the email and the survey is closed.
Anyway: Linux, Mac/iOS, Windows in that order.

    21. Dave Everitt on May 26, 2012

I also got: "Sorry, but this form is no longer accepting submissions." Anyway, OS X and (possibly although I'm only just starting to think about coding on an iPad) iOS.

Well that wasn't open for long. I didn't even think this was in question, and it raises another question: what of those who have pledged to receive early access that may now not have a compatible binary to play with?

Linux. Going by what most programmers working with the languages you plan to support initially seem to be using, I'd guess *nix support should be the initial focus, i.e. Linux and MacOS X.

Disappointed that the vote has already closed and furthermore how the vote came out.
That Ubuntu is above Linux - other was to be expected, though silly. But please! don't start optimizing the application for a single linux distribution.

    37. Mattias Petter Johansson on May 26, 2012

Closed. Heh, influence fail. It's okay this time I guess, but don't make it a habit, remember that some people paid money to influence.

Anyway, another gentoo linux user here. Would also be happy with Android - the horsepower is actually out there nowadays...
