and the gorgeous pieces of original art that back up each poem, all created by the same artist and in a variety of mediums.
Okay, it's obnoxious to write like that. It's me. I'm me. I'm autistic. I'm have depression and anxiety and PTSD. I'm transgender and my family doesn't believe in it, or in mental illness. I make this art as therapy. It soaks up all my pain. When I write I can get the thoughts away from me, they stretch like webs of honey trying to cling. When I make art, I can make pigment do magical things with gravity or fireballs. I have a diverse and ultimately useless skillset.
There was no intent to this. This is the result of an accumulation of about a year's worth of consistent artmaking. I never set out to make anything complex. I just wanted to get some canvases wet.
This will be a book with a bound edge. My poetry is often regarded as choppy and short although there are some longer pieces in this volume. I tend to be highly emotionally charged when I write and it comes through.
Almost all of the original pieces of art featured in this are available for sale, as well.
Risks and challenges
I have no idea how this will compare to the LGBT zine, because it may(?) appeal to a broader audience but marketing is always a weakness of mine. As is my depression, realistically.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
