About this project
Murfreesboro, TN: One of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Between 2000-2010, our population increased 58%!
For about a year now, I have lived in one of the larger apartment complexes in the city (Hawthorne Park South) we have 40+ buildings, each with 8 units ranging from 1-3 bedrooms, so when fully rented, we have about 900-1,200 residents.
Here's the cost breakdown:
$475 (x2) for the library itself;
$70 for registration on the Little Free Library site:
$60 for mounting hardware;
$170 for books in the library (the exact number will depend on reward levels)
$1,250 allows us to build TWO really neat libraries.
We will have two libraries. Each one would be placed near the mail centers (each serving half the complex).
I will register both libraries with TinyFreeLibrary and act as the steward for both.
Risks and challenges
Getting Books: We have a used book store in town willing to donate some books to start us off.
Complex Approval: I have already obtained approval from the complex manager. In fact, if successful, they stated that they would most likely roll this idea out to the rest of their properties!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
