Almost all USB-C battery packs in the market are underpowered with puny battery capacity or low USB-C power (18/30/45/60W). The HyperJuice Design
To achieve the maximum battery capacity of 27000mAh, we used 8 x LG Chemical 18650 Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery Cells. We narrowed down to 2 possible battery cell configuration and ultimately went with configuration/prototype #2 as it is slimmer, enough to fit in bags/pockets and easier to grab/hold with a single hand.

Minimalist Aircraft Grade Aluminum Design
While designing a high capacity battery, we still wanted a highly compact and portable solution. Aircraft grade aluminum was chosen as the enclosure material as it is strong yet thin and malleable enough to follow the lines of the battery cells, wrapping and protecting it with minimal space wastage. Aluminum is also a very good heat dissipator to keep the battery cool at all times. The minimalist aluminum design is efficient, functional and matches the MacBook perfectly.

HyperJuice Ports jam packed with Power!
We wanted to be make the most powerful USB-C battery pack so we put in not 1 but 2 high power USB-C ports. We also added a USB-A port so that HyperJuice will be backward compatible with older devices. We ultimately went with more USB-C ports than USB-A ports as USB-C is the future as it is more powerful and more versatile with more devices switching to USB-C everyday. We also designed a unique circular space saving 5 stage LED battery level indicator that lies symmetrically with the power button, just like the ports.

Demonstration of Working Prototype
We recently demonstrated a working prototype of the HyperJuice at the recent IFA Berlin 2018 trade show where the following video was shot.
The following one shot unedited video demonstrates a fully functional pre-production HyperJuice with all charging ports working. The 100W USB-C port is shown to charge a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" at 100W. The 60W USB-C port is shown to charge a 2018 MacBook Pro 13" at 60W while the 18W USB-A port is shown to simultaneously charge a iPhone X at the same time. Pass through charging is also demonstrated. While HyperJuice is being recharged via its 100W USB-C input port, the HyperJuice is able to charge the 2018 MacBook Pro 13" and iPhone X at the same time via the 60W USB-C output port and 18W USB-A port respectively.

Reward Fulfilment
For US fulfilment, rewards will first be sea freight from our Asia manufacturing facility to our Fremont, California warehouse and thereafter be shipped to US addresses via insured USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Ground. US based backers are expected to receive rewards within a week from shipping from our Fremont, California warehouse. For Rest of the World fulfilment, rewards will be air freight directly from our distribution center in Shenzhen, China. Backers are also expected to receive rewards between 4-20 days from shipping.

Risks and challenges
No project is without risk and challenges but we try to do our absolute best to minimize them. We felt that we have done all the necessary preliminary work prior to coming to Kickstarter. We are also no strangers to USB-C products, Apple accessories or crowdfunding.
The HyperJuice product that you see in the above video/photos are actual working prototypes.
With your support, we can bring HyperJuice to users worldwide. We are ready to begin mass production and your contribution will help us achieve economies of scale and keep the product cost low.
We have sufficient materials to manufacture about 1,000 units now. Beyond that, the lead time is about 2 months. Your strong support will give us the needed affirmation to place a larger raw materials order and start mass production earlier.
