Twas the Night Before the Apocalypse

Posted by Hyacinth Games (Creator)

Hi everyone, hope you're having a great holiday!

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the land

Not a creature was stirring, because doom was at hand;

The world was awash with fear and with dread,

With thoughts that by Christmas, we all might be dead!

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While Stitchers and Drifters danced in their heads;

When out in the land there arose a mighty clatter

I rushed to my emergency radio to see what was the matter.

An A-bomb hit the ground like a flash,

I boarded the windows and drew down the sash.

When, what to my wondering eyes should I see,

But a sleigh full of zombies, all staring at me

The little old driver, so dead and so plain,

I knew in a moment, must be looking for brains.

They stumbled and bumbled his friends they all came,

He growled, and mumbled, and moaned out "Brains!"

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now eat the brains! eat the brains! eat them all!"

As ashes fell, and wild hurricanes fly,

I knew in an instant, that the end was nigh!

The Mayans were right, just a little late

They knew the end was coming, but didn't know the date.

The world is falling apart, and it doesn't matter how,

Christmas is coming, and it's coming right now!

Anton had bronchitis for a bit in December, and we're running a bit behind on the layout, but it's about 2/3 done now. The aim is for first week of 2014 PDF release, with the print copy coming as fast as our printer can get it off of the presses. Reclaimers will be here next week, and we're just waiting on painted samples to do the regular release, but we'll be sending those out as soon as our caster has them in our hands. Nothing is ever quite as fast as we'd like, but hopefully you'll like the end result.

If anyone would like to take a look at the first 100 or so pages of the PDF, shoot an email over to Anton: anton at wreck-age dot net.

Happy holidays!

Intro adventure up on DriveThruRPG

Just a quick progress update this time.

Editing of all by but 3 sections is DONE. The layout is well underway. We are shooting for a December 5th release to the printer for the softcover book, and it will be a few weeks or a month from there before it is printed. We'll then be shipping them out to you all. We hope you like the finished product.

We did a short intro adventure, that you can check out and download for free form here:

We'd love your feedback on it.

Reclaimer masters just came in, and are being sent out to be painted tomorrow. From there, we're hoping for an official release sometime in the next month, but we are getting production molds started this week, for Kickstarter folks.

More soon!

Reclaimers and rulebook news! loose ship dates announced.

This week saw two significant milestones reached:

The Reclaimers, which have been in limbo for almost a year, have FINALLY been sent to the caster. Those who have followed the saga will remember the package being lost from France, and then the subsequent re-sculpting that was needed due to castability issues.

Well... it's all nearing completion, much to our surprise and amazement (and sighs of relief).

The package is in the mail to the caster, and we will hopefully have masters back by month's end. From there, we will hopefully be shipping to kickstarter backers who pledged for them sometime mid-november. We won't have retail packaging until closer to the end of the month. If you prefer to wait for retail packaging, please let us know now, or we will be sending them to you as soon as we get production castings.

In other news: we have begun layout on the first sections of the rulebook. This is a long time coming, and we want to sincerely apologize for the wait on this. We have had numerous hiccups along the way, but we think the final product will be all that much better for it. We are shooting to take regular pre-orders on November 1st (please help spread the word!) and are hopefully going to be shipping to kickstarter backers in early december.

We will firm up these dates in our next update.

We will be including a coupon for a hardcover book, and once we ship that out, we will be done with all our kickstarter obligations. This has been a tough campaign for us, because we really underestimated our costs on the project, and felt sincerely stuck in terms of what we've owed people. We haven't taken this obligation lightly, and we really hope the wait will all be worth it in the end.

We will see how our initial sales are in the 1st quarter of 2014, and are working on bank financing to be able to do things like publish the hardcover for a full print run, or possibly just do a short-digital run of hardcover books in the spring to satisfy the kickstarter backers. Either way, we will make sure that everyone who pledged for a hardcover will get one, but it will take us a little more time. In the meantime, we are working on getting the softcover to everyone, ASAP, so that you can see what we've been working on for nearly two years. We hope it will be the first of many releases.

As always, thank you for your support!

Reclaimers, rulebook progress, and release schedule for 2014 and beyond!

Posted by Hyacinth Games (Creator)

Lots of news at Hyacinth Headquarters this week.

We are nearing completion on the Reclaimer sculpts, and we'll finally be able to get them started after many long delays. We hope that it will all have been worth the wait!

All of our kickstarter pledges have been shipped up to the Stitchers box set, so as of now:

Stakers, Drifters, and Stitchers have all hit the post office. If you haven't received them by the end of the month, please get in touch and let us know.

Anton is working on finishing up the soft cover rule book and after that, it's going to go to the final editing process. We got great feedback from the last round of playtesting and notes from many of you, and are working to make everything as clear and concise as possible. We're setting a final print goal of being on the printing presses within 3 months, but this may be sooner.

The soft cover will then be shipped out to everyone who has ordered a book, and it will include a voucher for the hardcover book once it's released, which we're hoping will be 2nd quarter of 2014.

If you want to help us get this project off the ground, and into stores, and to have people playing, we need your help! Now is the time to tell everyone you know, via twitter, Facebook, and forums that you're looking forward to seeing the final results, and we're in the final hours, so to speak, and it's time to get the word out.

Please tell everyone about our great miniature range, including the newly released Stitchers! Get them painted so you can hit the ground running!"

We need to build momentum to get things rolling so that when the book drops, you will have a crowd lined up to play it with you, and so that we can have a steady income to be able to keep to our release schedule, which brings us to that... Here are a few things we have lined up for after the softcover book release:

Stitcher Flesh Golem A blister

Staker Booster Bilster

Drifter Booster Bilster
