THE BREAKDOWN: My name is James Huston and I am raising money for an independent sci-fi anime entitled Hacker Mind. Talented artist from all over the world have signed on board in making this project. The primary goal behind this project is to create a cinematic science fiction experience within the span of thirty minutes. The film itself is set in a post-apocalyptic future and deals with the theme; what does it mean to be human? I want to raise money to make this film, but I've also listed other benchmark goals to reach in fundraising for this film. They are listed as follows...
What’s most exciting about the film is that even if it becomes feature length it will still be made available online and free to watch. Perhaps this film can become part of a trend in which more and more feature length films are being released onto the internet for free and even being watched on television sets. Already many independent film makers have found a home on the internet. Besides the available free indie games and music online there is also a lot of short films and web series. Not only is the quantity of all these creative endeavors increasing, but the budgets are as well. What does this mean? I think that if independent feature length films follow this internet trend than the entertainment industry could eventually go through a dramatic revolution. The internet, in terms of the entertainment industry, could become as powerful an outlet as cinema and television.
