1.0 THE INTRODUCTION
Having just had our first Birthday, Hundred Million is a design company bursting with creativity and original product designs.

2.0 THE PROJECT

Sugar Skull Spoon, born from the happy realisation that with a simple twist, the humble tea spoon could become the perfect home accessory for fans of the macabre (and fans of hot drinks!). The Sugar Skull tea spoon is the perfect gift for those who need reminding to take a little less sugar in their drinks, and even if you don't, it's still MUCH more interesting than a regular spoon...

Made from Stainless steel and with a concave shape to ensure you still get plenty of sweetness per scoop, it's ripe for kick starting!

4.0 THE DEVELOPMENT

Final Technical Drawings
Final Technical Drawings

We spent 6 months perfecting the proportions, developing 3D models and prototypes and discussing manufacturing processes with factories worldwide, to get the idea to the stage it's at now, primed and ready for Kickstarting! Your pledges of investment will be spent on placing the production order, this includes the stock and materials and also will help pay for freight charges to our warehouse, at which point we can ship out all the lovely rewards you have given so generously for!

Our Sugar Skull Spoon is made from high-quality stainless steel, with a laser etched 'Hundred Million' logo subtly engraved into the back of the handle, drawing on inspiration from the Mexican Día de los Muertos Festival, gothic culture, Tim Burton films, and of course lots and lots of coffee in the office, led us to this design, and we are ready to unleash it upon the World!

 5.0 PRODUCTION AND FULFILLMENT PLAN

Assuming we achieve our funding, and because of the developmental work we have already invested time in, the production and fulfillment stages of the project will move quite quickly.

Your pledges will almost immediately be used for us to place the main order for Sugar Skull Spoons with our factory, they will take approximately 6 weeks to produce and polish, and another 5 weeks for quality control inspection and delivery to our studio.

During this time we will also order production and printing of the special edition mugs and bumper stickers - which have much shorter lead times and should arrive ahead of the Sugar Skull Spoons.

Once the various products have arrived in our UK studio we will package them up as per pledged amounts, and complete all thank you cards! before dispatching orders. Hundred Million is a company used to shipping out orders internationally, so this is a phase which does not phase us!

Risks and challenges

Our biggest challenge so far has been production methods - what started out as a seemingly simple manufacturing alteration (punching a skull design out of an existing teaspoon) quickly became a mission to find the perfect factory.

Each tea spoon is cast in a mould, but first we tried many methods of manufacture including cutting and shaping the design, and using existing spoons and stamping out the shape as a post-production process. We finally settled on the current manufacturer and method because of it's consistent quality and precise shape.
