The $2000 goal would go towards our the production and manufacturing of our first comic, which is really more comparable to a graphic novel in terms of length and material quality. Arrangements have already been made to have the comic book distributed once it is printed.
The comic is approximately 40 full pages of inspiring artwork and action-packed drama. Ryan and I are very proud of this project. We believe that the quality of both, the artwork and the story, are of elite professional caliber and are very confident that it could do well once printed.
Our dream is that Human will gain enough popularity to eventually be made into an animated cyberpunk TV series.
Thank you so much for your interest and support! Without you, there is no point in us doing this at all. :)
Gabe Smith is the writer, creator, owner... everything but the artist for Human.
Yes. The comic book will be roughly 40 pages of black and white artwork, but with a full color cover. Not only does this keep our initial production costs low enough to make this project work, it gives Ryan's artwork a very noir look that we like. So it's a business decision, just as much as an artistic one. I think I will keep the entire comic series in black and white, but will make the animated series in full color when we get to that.
Thank you! Simply press the green button at the top of the screen that says "back this project."
Yes! Be sure to see the very end of our kickstart video, because it gives a glimpse of the first 9 pages of issue #1. But you can also go to my deviantart page for a better look!! I will be posting more and more artwork as our project nears completion, so stay tuned!
I have employed the exceptional talents of Ryan Merrill to do the artwork for issue #1, and with your support, many future episodes of Human.
What will society be like in a few hundred years? That is what I continue to ask myself when writing Human.
The story takes place hundreds of years into the future on Earth, surrounding a young female bounty hunter named Cezra, who lives in a society where human genetic engineering and bio-mechanical upgrades are illegal, but common.
In the opening episode, a difficult battle with a bio-tech dealer named Drolo entangles Cezra with the Department of Human Purity, a branch of government dedicated to eradicating society of these bio-tech criminals. As a result, Dr. Carter, a surgeon providing treatment to nano-tech virus infected patients, becomes involved in the situation as a result of this battle.
Human features a colorful cast of characters and features vivid and inspiring artwork of a world that has yet to be seen.
Yes. It includes a digital comic, a hard copy, and a mention in our thank you list!
