House of Not
This is House of Not and we want to thank you for stopping by our page!
We have an opportunity to work with three videographers from Toronto. They are industry professionals with years of experience, each with a passion for creating contemporary visual projects.
They approached us with a concept for transforming our latest single, “Come On In” into a music video (Listen to full song above). We were thrilled at the idea, but videos of this caliber cost enormous amounts of money. When the guys offered to do this project at cost (as we had no budget or plan to do this type of video) we decided to take this to KickStarter to ask for your help to fund this campaign.
This video is important for House of Not as it creates awareness and helps gain interest of radio and the music industry. The video will be used for promotion around the world for the fourth album, “Part IV - Evergone and the Immaculate Spectacular” (when it is released) along with the project as a whole. Such a device is essential for our Electronic Presskit, which will be sent to AM/FM radio, Independent Internet Radio, podcasts and industry professionals. This video is complementary to the idea of storytelling with the basis of rock music being a universal language.
The treatment for this project will be as such:
“Inspired by the concept of ‘eyes being the windows to the soul’ and a Dali portrait of Mae West, the treatment for ‘Come On In’ will be simple, surreal and evocative with the series of images underline the theme of ‘coming in’ to self…”
“A concept of continuously ‘zooming in’ is synonymous with meditation practices and the illusion of going ‘deeper’ into self.” — James, John, Cosimo (Videographers)
House of Not is an independent musical project that is currently building an international audience worldwide. Heard on AM/FM stations, Independent Internet Radio Stations and various other media in Canada, Europe, USA and UK.
House of Not - The critically acclaimed ‘The Walkabout of A. Nexter Niode’ is a 21st century counterculture rock opus that delivers an edgy, sophisticated, and compelling rock experience. It is a five part serial rock odyssey that speaks to all ages with a classic tale of rebellion, coming of age and the resilience of the human spirit.

Risks and challenges
One of the many challenges we face is to raise the remaining budget for the video ourselves. We are asking for $3000 of the total $6050 budget because this is our first KickStarter campaign and we wanted to show that we believe in this video as much as our campaign backers and supporters do. It is a financial strain, to say the least, and any funds that exceed our asking value lightens the load immensely. Once the video is complete we still have marketing, promotion, mailers, and distribution (including paid services, MTV, VH1, Much Music, etc.) to get the video in front of audiences and industry types around the world. With out a professional music video, it is much harder to get the attention of radio directors and music industry professionals. Any funds raised over the total budget will be put towards our marketing plan.
The “House of Not” project has been independently funded from day one, and has always been produced on a shoe-string budget. We have and will continue to experience many challenges with creating, producing and marketing a 5 part rock odyssey. House of Not intends to stay the course keeping the artistic and production quality at the highest of standards while the music industry continues to go through a complete metamorphosis.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
