FULFILLMENT & DELIVERY
The Horror Box will be delivered through USPS every quarter, starting in September/October 2018, just in time for Halloween!
Seasonal themes include April Fools (Q1), Independence Day (Q2), Halloween (Q3), and Christmas/Hanukah/Kwanza (Q4).
Kickstarter Rewards will be shipped/fulfilled in September/October 2018.
Every quarter, The Horror Box will include a high-dollar collectible – a “chase item” - that will be awarded to one lucky subscriber chosen at random. The "chase item" will be a rare, in-demand, and valuable piece of art, collectible, and/or a personal experience with a Horror icon/legend. Being artists ourselves, we want The Horror Box to help grow and support the Horror community. What better way to do this than to provide a channel of distribution and exposure for our Horror Artist partners and pals?
We are in constant discovery-mode with a goal to include amazing, unique, and custom Horror art from local, burgeoning artist, as well as world-renowned Horror industry creators/professionals.

The Horror Box is a chance for horror makers/creators to get their names and brands out to a broader audience and a chance for our subscribers to connect with them. We're not just building a better box, we hope to strengthen and bring the Horror Fan community even closer together!
It's definitely a discovery box in many regards, and we hope that each item selected will be a welcome and pleasant surprise for subscribers every time they open their box. Prior to each quarterly distribution, we will release clues/details as to what’ll be included in The Horror Box, and provide updates on progress directly from artists and our in-house curators.
BEHIND THE BOX
The Horror Box was created for horror fans, by two Horror Fanatics. Founders, Eric Crowe and Mark Russo, explain.
"So far, subscribing to and receiving some of the other, more popular Horror subscription boxes has left us feeling underwhelmed. We don’t think Horror fans deserve that; no one should pay for something that leaves them feeling so ordinary. We are on a mission to provide a better experience for the Horror Fan, while connecting them to the makers & creators of the horror film industry."
The Horror Box is a product born from the passion of two lifelong Horror junkies and creative artists. This passion fuels the motivation necessary to provide an invaluable service to an insatiable community of enthusiasts.
The Horror community is one teeming with culture, creativity, talent, and love for all things that give you nightmares. As members of this community, we want to help make things better, cooler, and sexier for everyone – we love this shit.
Eric Crowe is a business professional from Ellicott City, Maryland - USA. Running his first company at 27, Eric became a serial entrepreneur taking on more business roles shortly after. Currently, he owns and operates Energy Supply Company, the world's first and only monthly subscription service providing unique energy drinks since 2015.
Eric's love for the horror genre goes back to his childhood where he practiced special effects makeup on himself and others, eventually competing and winning at a professional level across the United States. Eric believes his business and subscription box experiences have been invaluable stepping stones to pursuing his true passion - bringing Horror Fans the subscription box they deserve!
Mark Russo is a graphics and fine arts professional who also hails from Ellicott City, Maryland in the United States. Mark utilizes his various artistic skills on a daily basis by designing solutions for some of the largest brands in the world. He owns and operates Mark Russo Creations, which offers a wide array of artistic services and experiences, including mixed-media art classes in the Columbia Art District.
Mark's love for superheroes, monsters, and horror movies began at a young age when his father, a horror fanatic, would take him to the movies for double features.
Now, Mark's talents and attention to detail add tremendous value, vision, and direction to The Horror Box.
What kind of information do you need from subscribers?
We don't collect any information until after Kickstarter has ended. You will be sent a survey asking for backer info. Apart from the obvious (name, address, phone number, email) we will need some information from you in order to make your experience the best it can be.
When you sign up for the Horror Box through Kickstarter, you will be asked a few questions, i.e., T-shirt size, food or latex allergies, etc. This will allow us to customize your experience, and to ensure that your subscription has items that fit you and won't hurt you :)
Risks and challenges
We are small, motivated, humble, and hungry. We will have lots of work to do in order to get your items/boxes completed and shipped. Luckily we have experience running the other subscription box company which will come in hand. We are horror fans at heart and know how important it is to receive our special items/collectibles on-time. We will strive to always communicate well and deliver a top notch product. We need you more than you need us and we will never take that for granted.
Currently our planned ordering window (time frame) is to have subscribers sign up a month in advance so we can reduce waste and excess buying of items. An example of our subscription window would be if you want the Christmas Horror Box (with Horroraments :), you have to sign up prior to November 15th. Slower shipping times can minimize the ordering window. Once we have a better understanding on the quantity of monthly subscribers, we can smooth out our ordering window.
Shipping outside the US always presents unique challenges. High and fluctuating shipping costs, lost packages, importing regulations, and long transit times can all negatively effect a subscribers shipping experience. We are working with USPS to secure the most cost effective and reliable shipping service we can in order to better serve our customers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
