Help Lars put out his first ever-vinyl compilation and get a free copy of his "Edgar Allan Poe EP", literary hip-hop for the punk set.
I've been independently making and releasing post-punk laptop rap since 2003, and for years people have been asking me when I'm going to put my music out on vinyl. To commemorate the upcoming ten year anniversary, I'm releasing the first actual MC Lars "record", my "Greatest Hits". I've hollered at many of y'all on Facebook and Twitter to ask you which songs are your favorites. The tracks with the most votes will be featured. The voting will continue until this campaign ends, I wanted to include your favorites because this is a limited-edition fan compilation.
The LP is going to be gatefold, with lots of cool old photographs and detailed liner notes. I'm remastering all of the songs so they sound great and am investing a lot in the production of the actual vinyl. It's an expensive process, so I've launched this campaign so I can do it right.
I am offering some cool incentives this time. If you order the record, you also can get a free physical copy of my upcoming "Edgar Allan Poe EP", which features cameos from Random and the Dead Milkmen, and a bunch of new songs based on Poe's works. You can also get an original drawing by me, a USB robot with my entire catalogue, a custom acrylic painting, an LA vacation or have me come to your house to record a song with you. Sick, right?
I wanted to say thanks to each and every one of you for your support over the years. I can't believe I've been doing this for so long. I want this compilation to be special and awesome.
Thanks for helping me put it out.
Peace and thanks from your DIY rapper homie,
P.S. Below are some images of the incentives: examples of the acrylic paintings, the USB robot and pictures of the artists featured on the EP.
