Alone is a sci-fi / survival horror tabletop game for 2 to 4 players. In this asymmetric dungeon crawler, a single player will control the castaway Hero, exploring an unknown map full of dangers and traps and trying to complete missions, while up to 3 Evil masterminds will plot against him in the darkness, trying to kill him.
Let's start right from the good stuff: here's what you get with your pledge:

Depending on which side you choose, Hero or Evil, the gameplay is completely different. The Hero can only see as far as his flashlight allows him, just a few sectors of the map at a time. Alone and abandoned, his life always threatened, he’ll have to be careful at every step. On the other side of the fence, hidden behind their screen, the Evil players can see everything. The whole map is always available to them, at all times. They can use cards to spawn and move hideous creatures and place insidious traps, all to make the Hero’s life as difficult as possible.

In Alone, it is always the Hero’s turn, there is no proper “Evil turn”. The Evil players can only React to the Hero’s Actions, to interrupt his game flow and put a spoke in his wheels.

The Hero has a certain number of Action Points (AP) available in his pool each turn. He can spend APs to perform Actions like Explore (to reveal unknown parts of the map), Move, Run, Attack, Search and Use Items. With his Radar he can know the distance between his current location and his chosen destination, and gather clues on the position of the Evil traps.

He can also perform several Engineering actions, like Combine Items (to upgrade their effects), Repair Lights (to switch the lights back on in selected parts of the map, to gain an advantage over Evil), Defuse Traps and Weld/Unweld Doors. When he has spent all the available APs, his turn is over.

The Hero has 2 Health meters: the Health Points meter and the Self Control meter. The HP meter measures the physical damage he takes, while the SC meter measures the psychological damage. As the Hero takes damage (of both kinds), his life will be more and more in danger, but the amount of Adrenaline at his disposal at the beginning of each round is gradually increased, and Adrenaline is one of the strongest assets for the Hero because it allows him to prevent Evil Reactions.

After each Action performed by the Hero, the Evil players have the chance to perform a Reaction to hamper the Hero's efforts. To do so, they rely on their card decks. They can play cards to activate many different kinds of instant effects, ranging from performing powerful special attacks or giving game-altering Statuses to the Hero. They can also discard cards to spawn or move a Creature, or to place Alert tokens that trigger bonus effects when more cards are played.

There are 4 Evil card decks, each one with a different theme. Each Evil player chooses one at the beginning of the game, thus choosing a different gameplay style. A different Evil player will be appointed as Leader each turn; since the Evil Leader draws more cards, his gameplay style will be prominent while he's in charge, forcing the Hero to adapt to different kinds of challenge each round.

The miniatures shown are resins. All miniatures in Alone will be pre-assembled plastic.

For 75€ the Engineer Pledge gets you a copy of Alone, as well as the Kickstarter Exclusive Assassin Suit Hero miniature, and any stretch goals we'll manage to unlock, of course!
The Assassin Suit Hero is an alternate hero miniature, with slightly different abilities, and comes with an exclusive Character card.

For 350€ the Cultist Pledge gets you everything you would get with an Engineer pledge, plus the Kickstarter-exclusive, limited 3D Resin Map Tiles Addon Kit, that allows you to enhance your games of Alone with a custom modular set of 3D resin Map Tiles... a place to let our miniatures really shine!
These custom resin pieces will only be produced in small quantities for this Kickstarter campaign, and won't be available at retail.

All the pieces of the set are made with modular parts (main structure, wall panels, etc.) that will be assembled by hand during the production (no assembling needed out of the box). This means that not even pieces with the same shape will be completely identical: each piece in a set will be unique.
You will notice that there are 8 cardboard Room tiles in the core box set of Alone, but only 3 resin Map tiles in the 3D Resin Map Tiles kit. By combining the 3 Map tiles with the 8 unique Room Items, you will be able to recreate all the rooms of the standard cardboard tiles. The Wall pieces will be used to close the door gaps of a room, when there is no door in the corresponding position.
Note that anything marked with this:

is an Exclusive item for Kickstarter backers, with remaining stock available at conventions and special promotions only.
Anything marked with this instead:

is an item that our Kickstarter backers will receive for free, but that will be available at retail later (at an extra cost) as expansion material.

Please be aware that this is a Preview Rulebook, created with the sole intent to show you the game mechanics. It is not final, nor intended to actually play the game. Rules may still be tweaked and changed, layout and graphics may still be altered. The project is still in development during the Kickstarter, and all aspects are subject to improvements.

We will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter concludes based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager, BackerKit, after the campaign ends. This way, we can be fair to all our backers as shipping is rarely one size fits all.

We will ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. Depending on where in the world you are, and depending on the number of backers of each region, we will ship from different logistics centers or from a single one; in both cases, all shipping will be handled through established fulfillment companies. You can find a list of rough estimates for shipping a standard game package here below (4kg volumetric weight). Note that if many stretch goals will be unlocked, the actual shipping cost may be higher. Also, they only apply to the Engineer Pledge. The shipping of the Cultist Pledge will require an extra cost for the 3D Resin Map Tiles Kit.
- EUROPE: €15 - €25
- CANADA: €10 - €15 to most cities.
- USA: €10 - €15 to most states. €30 to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

- AFRICA: €80 to most countries.
Unfortunately, different import laws and customs from some specific countries make it impossible for us to ship games to them.
WE DO NOT SHIP TO: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.
Please note that while we will do our best to get you your rewards in a timely manner, you may not necessarily receive your rewards before the product makes it into distribution in your own country or before it's made available in conventions and other promotional events.

Risks and challenges
This is our first Kickstarter campaign, but not our first production experience. We are an established board game publisher, and we already brought to market several products, like Potion Explosion, Steam Park and its expansions, Dungeon Fighter and its expansions, Raise Your Goblets and Co-Mix. However, when you produce anything in China, unexpected events may always lead to delays with production, shipping or customs. We already took several steps that will help us minimize any of these, though.
For starters, the pre-production of the game has been going on full-steam for quite some time. The graphic art is over 95% complete; the remaining 5% will be achieved by taking the backer feedback into account. Also almost all of the game components have already been finalized, and we already have the production quote and an agreement with our manufacturer.
To reduce shipping problems, we will use fulfillment companies, which is the best option when you have a large number of orders to ship in a short period of time.
Finally, we will always be transparent and openly communicating with backers. We will be updating you on a regular basis and we will be present during the whole process to answer any questions and read every comment.
The estimated delivery date of Alone™ is April 2018, but keep in mind this is only an estimate. Also, due to the logistics of international shipping, backers in different regions of the world may receive their rewards sooner than others. We'll do our best to minimize this as much as possible.
We have other projects in development, but we have a dedicated team working on Alone.
