FREE ITEMS, EXCLUSIVE TO KICKSTARTER!
We reached our $60k stretch goal and unlocked a titanium bead and paracord for making a great lanyard. These free items will be included with each Eclipse purchased. Only available on Kickstarter.
Eclipse is one of the most unique EDC knives out there. What starts as a coin shape quickly morphs into a small but grippy knife that helps you tackle all those daily tasks. It also has a keychain loop thats great for paracord, keys, or lanyards. It comes in two sweet color options, with more to unlock via stretch goals.
The coin shape is perfect for the pocket, purse or even as a necklace. It matches the shape and profile of many keychains, but does so much more. Unlike many Everyday Carry knives out there, Eclipse is actually comfortable in your pocket. At only 6mm thick, its half as thick as most other EDC knives and similar in size to a Walking Liberty silver dollar coin (US currency). And did we forget to mention, its one of the sweetest conversation pieces you’ll own? ;)
Grip and Ergonomics
Eclipse was designed to be the most ergonomic and comfortable nanoblade out there. Your hand naturally falls into a comfortable and stable position. There is even a finger notch which helps further secure and stabilize. The handle is made from G10 FR-4 fiberglass epoxy. This is the same material used on many gun handles and high-end pocket knives.
A lanyard or even your keys help extend the grip and change the entire dynamic of the knife.
Eclipse features a button lock, frame lock style, design that snaps securely into place when the blade is opened and closed so the blade wont come open in your pocket on accident. It doesn't need the lock when open as your fingers provide enough lock force, however it is there for extra security. The blade closes in a direction away from your fingers so it is, in fact, more safe than a typical folding knife.
Eclipse has a great blade! Its a Wharncliffe style blade which many say is the most utilitarian, "get stuff done", blade. It features a cleaver like flat edge for slicing and chopping. The blade is tall which adds durability and allows for prying and other tough tasks. The tip is actually very pointy still which lets it pierce through cardboard and tape when needed to do fine, detailed slicing maneuvers. The best part, however, is that due to the blade's height we were able to add a very shallow chisel grind which makes this knife buttery smooth when slicing!
One Handed Deployment
A quick, one handed deployment makes it easier to prepare your cuts in the middle of a critical task.
Eclipse is ready for your daily tasks, both big and small.
Built Quality + Design
Although small, the Eclipse is actually constructed of 24 individual parts. The linkage design is a morphing 4 bar linkage which was carefully considered so that the path of the blade does not scrape against the handle while closing, and also moves away from the fingers when opening. The links pivot on premium phosphor bronze washers which help prevent wear and increase the life of the knife. The pivots are large which improve the overall stiffness and durability of the mechanism. The blade is heat treated 440C stainless steel which is a very hard, durable steel that has great edge retention and corrosion resistance. The heat treating is important as it greatly improves the material hardness, and many 440C blades don't employ this level of quality. The button lock is a simple "fool proof" system which will securely and reliably retain the knife in opened or closed positions. The logo is laser etched into the blade keeping the makers marks subtle and classy, no big lettering "bill-boarding" of the company name as seen on more mainstream brands. All edges of the knife body are softly radiused to avoid any scratchy corners.

Below is our current list of Kickstarter exclusive stretch goals. We have now reached all stretch goals (for now), congrats!
Titanium & Copper Options
Titanium and Copper versions of the Eclipse are now available to upgrade to. To do so you simply back the reward tier you want (1x, 2x, 3x, or 10x) and add +$10 for each of the units you ordered that you want to upgrade to copper or titanium. At the end of the project we will send out the survey asking for your selections and if you paid $10 per unit you intend to have upgraded we will be able to select copper or titanium versions. For more instructions on how to do this and for more pictures of these awesome versions check out our update here.
The retail price of Eclipse will be $59.00 or more, depending on the quantity we manufacture. Other morphing blades can easily go into the hundreds of dollars. Based on the quality of our blade, and with USA located quality control, we believe that this is a true bargain in the knife world.
The below chart shows the shipping target in mid October. The biggest portion of the schedule is from the Kickstarter project itself. Production of the individually machined, ground, coated, and inspected components is about 30 days with an additional 2 weeks for assembly and QA.
Designed in the San Francisco Bay Area
The Eclipse was designed in California and will be assembled in the USA. We will be personally assembling and doing final quality checks and pivot tuning to make sure you get the best quality knife.
Bottle Opener Decision Made:
Unfortunately, after much testing and internal discussion, we decided that the bottle opener feature, mentioned in the project video, was just not ready for release on the Eclipse knife.. We have some concerns about opening a bottle in a twisting motion when it is a similar motion to deploy the blade so for safety and reliability reasons, we are not offering the bottle opener feature. This was just a simple add-on feature anyway, the true benefit of the Eclipse is having a great, reliable, useful, and of course, interesting little EDC knife on you at all times.
Risks and challenges
We’ve completed all pre-manufacturing steps before starting this project. Multiple prototypes were made to ensure that the quality of our suppliers is sufficient and all appropriate tooling was constructed to fixture parts and create consistency in production machined parts. The only possible risk we can imagine would be delays in manufacturing due to material shortages or unforeseen issues such as tools breaking down. We will do everything we can to minimize these risks, as we have partnerships with multiple machine shops and can divert some of the work to another shop if we need to do work in parallel to keep up with our schedule. We hope the campaign demonstrates our design and manufacturing expertise. We are as confident as can be with this project :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
