"An engine designed for fun"
Hidden Identities + Push Your Luck + Tactical Gameplay = DARING DUSTBUNNIES!
Playtested over 300 times to make sure it delivers a great game every time.
What will you be doing when you play Daring Dustbunnies?
- - Keeping your identity secret but every choice you make is a tiny clue.
- - Planning ahead to avoid the traps of an ever decreasing choice of cards.
- - Using your charms and special powers to shape the game just the way you want it.
- - Deducing what colour the leader is so you can drop them in the bag!
Here's four minutes of Andy talking (he loves to talk) about the game for those that prefer a longer introduction with more armchair and less silly hat.
"Daring Dustbunnies transports the players into a universe of creatures that live under the sofa, magically animating balls of fluff in an effort to prove who is the most daring amongst them."
Created by Andy Hopwood - "the Wonka of board games", it will inspire you to laugh, think and occasionally swear.
If these things sound good to you, you are going to love this game, you literally get to do them all the time!
What's in the box?
Stuff and lots of it... What? You want details? Just scroll down.
At the start of the game you'll get two characters. Choose the one with the power you prefer and turn the other face down beside it. The back of every character board serves an elegant purpose, it creates the other half of your playboard with spaces for your fate card and static.
In Daring Dustbunnies you use 2, 3 or 4 of these depending on the number of players. This means you'll rarely see the same set-up twice. The actions on the boards are only triggered when a fluffball lands on an empty space so you have to organise your movements to make the most of them, or to avoid setting them off!
The Cat and Dog movement cards act as wild cards, allowing you to move a fluffball of your choice, but which will you choose, and what clues will that give to other players??
You earn static by putting fluffballs together. When fluff rubs against fluff - it creates static! Pictured are the style of playing pieces we want to use, naturally there are more than 15 in the picture.... you can count them if you like :-)
Playing these at just the right time can make the difference between victory and vacuum!
One of the features of Daring Dustbunnies is you'll moving any one of the fluffballs on your turn, not necessarily your own.
This image is to give an idea of the style of the pieces. The actual colours in the game have been selected after careful consideration of colour blind people's needs. So you'll be getting - Pink - Brown - Green - Yellow - Black - Blue!

Jason Frowde of Gaming Knights shows us how to play the game.
How to play - A brief guide to fluffomancy
The basic principle behind the game is to avoid ending up in the vacuum cleaner BUT to be nearest to it when the round ends. So in essence to be just behind the poor sap who gets sucked off the carpet.
The movement cards in your hand will be played to move one of the fluffballs towards the vacuum cleaner but not necessarily the one you have been randomly, and secretly, assigned this round. There are also two Talisman of Truth cards in this movement deck which can mean you have to reveal your fluffball's colour making it tricky, but not impossible, for you to win.
When you move a fluffball it will usually land on one of the carpet spaces and trigger an action, otherwise you will be rewarded with static. Static powers the charms that you'll collect as the game progresses. The charms let you cheat.
There are three rounds in each game and they end AFTER a fluffball has gone into the vacuum cleaner and then ONLY WHEN the remaining fluffballs are all on unique carpet spaces. This means it is possible for more than one fluffball to end up in the vacuum.
When the round ends, the fluffball nearest the vacuum will get a gold medal then silver goes to the next nearest and finally bronze to the third placed fluffball. Gold is really important and just like the medal table at the olympics one gold medal will be better than 3 silvers, so daring to be first is better than cautiously picking up second place.
Here are the rules for those that want to get to the nitty gritty of how it all works.
"It's a game that rewards deduction, misdirection and timing as you endeavour to position your fluffball as close as possible to the vacuum of doom just at the moment when someone else gets sucked up it. Time it wrong and you'll be the one in the vortex and your opponent will be brandishing the gold medal."
Mike Barnes of Who Dares Rolls gives us his take on the game - please note there is occasional adult language in this one. But that's Mike for you!

“11 out of 10”! Ruth K. 9 Year old player.
A selection of the reactions from people who played Daring Dustbunnies. Full disclosure, Andy knows two of these personally but the rest are just lovely people who felt happy to give their honest opinion.
The Kearsley family at First Player Marker take us through a round of the game and we see how your fortunes can turn and how the hopes and dreams of small children can be crushed in a most delightful manner.
“Entertaining, novel and even losing was fun.” Gary L. Player at the UK Games Expo
"well balanced push your luck game, with just a soupcon of take that" Neil K. After three separate plays.

Our approach to this project is to keep it simple. Therefore the pledge levels are minimal.
Pledge £1 (Plugged In) - You'll be kept up to date with what's going on.
Pledge £20 (Full Power) - You'll get a copy of the full game.
Pledge £40 (Double Dare) - You'll get two copies (but only pay for one set of postage).
Pledge £60 (Full Bag) - Three copy option (still just one postage) by popular demand.
Pledge £200 (Mad Hatter) - You can own my daft inexpensive bunny hat as worn at the UK Games expo, you will also get a copy of the game of course, what else will you play in that silly hat?
Postage costs: UK £6 / EU £9 / USA / £12 / Rest of the world £15
Taxes will be paid at the point of manufacture and so we do not expect any import duties to be charged to UK, EU or USA. If you live elsewhere it should also be fine but you will be notified before shipment if there are any issues.
Whatever level you pledge at your support will be invaluable in the success of this game. If you share on your social media as well you could be giving one of your friends the chance to join in too!
"The game you will be getting is a celebration of pushing your luck combined with secret identities. It fits very comfortably into Andy's style of making games that encourage people to laugh, think and occasionally swear."
The standard game will have everything in it.
There are ten characters, you will get them all. There are five double sided rooms, you'll get them all.
I am a firm believer in giving you 100% of the game within the basic pledge.
This means that if we get a lot of funds then I'll be using any savings due to economies of scale to improve the components and the finish of the printed matter.
I have the excellent team at Spiral Galaxy ready to take care of your game. They have years of experience of fulfilling and delivering orders.
This will be an EU friendly project.

Risks and challenges
The artwork is ready, the graphic design is nearly finished so the only things that could delay the delivery of this game are related to manufacturing. I've chosen an experienced company for this so there shouldn't be any surprises. Naturally if there are I'll let you know how we are planning to fix them.
This is my first kickstarter but it is not my first game and I've been making small print runs of my games for ten years. That experience and my desire to make this an excellent experience for everyone involved will hopefully give you confidence that I'll get the job done.
Fulfilment will be by another experienced team in the UK and I am confident that they will be able to handle it comfortably. All in all this project is in safe hands but I'll let you know if anything crops up.
The only other issue could be Brexit and the effects it could have on EU postage and fulfillment rates. I am recognising this as a risk but at the same time it is not a big risk. The worst case scenario I see for EU backers is that I may have to fulfill those orders myself to avoid losing money on each order, which in turn might slow down delivery, but not by much. If there are a lot of orders to fulfill I would resort to using an EU based fulfillment centre to process these orders.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
