Update: Dark Horse, Toronto Shipping, Launches
As you may have already heard, Secret Loves of Geek Girls has been picked up for worldwide distribution by Dark Horse! Their release date will be October 2016 and feature a few new additions including a cover by Noelle Stevenson, a foreword by Kelly Sue DeConnick, artwork by Genevieve FT, and stories by Marjorie Liu and Carla Speed McNeil. I'm very excited to be working with our DH editor Daniel Chabon and eager to see our stories in shops everywhere.
In addition, and a bit outside of Secret Loves, one of our contributors, Margaret Atwood, will be writing a new graphic novel series for Dark Horse called Angel Catbird with art by Johnnie Christmas and colour art by Tamra Bonvillain, and I'll be serving as consulting editor on the project!
What is a consulting editor? It basically is a cross between a project coordinator and a regular editor, and is fully a job title I made up because I wasn't sure what to call my role.
If you are a Toronto resident and you did not come to the launch yesterday to pick up your books, have no fear, your books are currently being packaged and will be shipped out tomorrow at the latest.
