Crossroll Hong Kong is a 30-minute strategic roll-and-write board game. One to four (or more) players share dice rolls to try to explore Hong Kong as efficiently as possible.
In Crossroll Hong Kong, players compete to take their group to as many districts as possible. You'll be putting a cross to each explored district.
Each turn, the active player choose 2 dice which determine which numbers you use for your actions. Players choose their action and write simultaneously.
Everyone is getting the same inputs, but how you choose to deal with them will determine your success.
There are also unpredictable but manageable bonuses, and an advanced variable ability to make every game different.
This is a strategic game. Traditionally roll-and-write games have been lighter games, but Crossroll Hong Kong is a bit heavier with multiple action selection, strategy planning and risk management.
To make the game comparable to the game weight (complexity), we decided to go with premium player boards.
With Crossroll Hong Kong, you can play with any number of people. (Solo, duo, small group and very large group.)
The game ships with 4 maps, and 4 dry erase markers.
If you want additional maps and dry erase markers, you may place an order of multiple sets and receive a great discount. (and same shipping!!)
Dice tray costs extra $6 USD and it will fit in the game box. And of course, no extra shipping.
Player boards printed on both sides, with back side showing less art to keep distraction minimal and easy learning of the game.
The game involves 4 dice (d4, d6, d8, d10).
Simple rules, strategic gameplay
Along any one route, select a dice result and use it to cross off that many spaces. Record the number in the route boxes which shows possible quota to fill that route.
We use many examples and graphics throughout the rulebook to help you better understand the rules. We made lots of improvements after feedback from reviewers and playtesters. Of course, we will continue to make improvements from your feedback.
Since we already aim at premium quality from the very start, we will hear your suggestions for stretch goals.
Possible SGs: (Directions will be asked in pledge manager.)
1. Extra card components for even better solo mode game experience.
2. 2x size. Upgrade to half-folded A3 size.
3. Totally new design, minimal topographic back side graphics.
Overall, once you get the game going, I think Crossroll Hong Kong is a lot of fun!
[...]Crossroll does a good job mixing both tried-and-true roll-and-write mechanics (racing, crossing off locations) and adding some stuff that’s novel (at least among the games I’ve seen) via its Crossroad Engine. It gives players a lot of different things that they can do on their turn, which is very nice, as well. Add in some bright, colorful art and a really neat setting and you’ve got a game that I’m pretty pleased with.
[...] If you're looking for a way to (thematically) explore Hong Kong and you enjoy a roll-and-write, I'd recommend checking out Crossroll Hong Kong! I've enjoyed playing it."

Really great roll n write game. Lots of choices and almost an easier to understand version of メトロックス (MetroX). I love that you can choose the 2 dice you can roll and possibly give more control over what you might see. Really excited for this one.
Cross Roll Hong Kong is a Roll and Write that feels more like a full on board game. Most roll and Writes are smaller and quick playing, but this game seems to have more umph to it with more to do. I play-tested it with several different people and everyone really enjoyed it. They loved the size of the boards and the uniqueness of the die. In Cross Roll Hong kong you have a set of D*D dice not just straight up 6 sided die. And you get to pick two out of the four dice to roll. The biggest plus to this game is the amount of things to do and the size. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves roll and writes but also to those who are on the fence since it does feel more like a regular board game.
This game is an A plus and is about to hit Kickstarter so go back it and add a great game to your library.
Kudos to NightDreamer and Princton Wong!!!!
This Game gets a A+ in my book and in the book of those who Demo'd it. !!!
