After working in clay for the past 14 years (mostly out of our home), we opened a pottery studio at the Hampton Station in Greenville, SC. Quickly we discovered that there was an entire community that was excited to get their hands into clay. We have outgrown our space and are excited to announce that we will be moving a few doors down into a new studio that offers 4X the amount of space for throwing clay! This new space will give you the opportunity to take more classes, join together with other great artists, and of course, make even more awesome pottery.

How the funds will be used
While our new space is spoken for, there are a few needs that must be met before we can really get the party started!
We currently don’t have enough wheels to meet the growing needs of our classes and studio members. Purchasing 6 additional Brent pottery wheels will double our total wheels and our ability to reach more students.
A slab roller is a tool we use every day in our production. We currently work with a table top slab roller, but upgrading to full size slab roller will allow us to increase our production and continue to meet the needs of our growing clientele. A pug mill is another awesome tool we would like to integrate into our studio. While mixing clay by hand is (technically) an option, a growing pottery studio really needs a pug mill to make use of the excess clay from production and the classroom.
These tools will help keep costs down for our studio, and in turn, members like you. It will also enable us to keep the level of waste to a minimum, and operate an even more environmentally conscious business. These benefits give us more time to invest in our craft and you, the student.
Entering a larger studio means we will have more opportunities to display our craft! Work tables, drying racks, and product showcase units will all be needed.
The proceeds of this stretch goal would also go towards purchasing an additional an additional 2 wheels, for a total of 8 eight pottery wheels, as well as a new POS system.
We are so excited to see how our Studio Community will continue to grow to fill our next home.
