Got Get a Roomie! is back - and collecting funds for the paperback edition of Book Two, plus a reprint of Book One!
Go Get a Roomie! can be read online here.
Roomie is an adventurous upbeat hippie who lives her life indulging in love, beer, joy, beer, ladies and more beer. Around her gravitates the crowd of Jo's bar - a genuine buffet of LGBTQA+ peepz who include S&M twins and lovable vikings.
Things change when Roomie crosses paths with the highly introverted and openly lazy Lillian. While Roomie's life is about the waking world (specifically the dancing and sexy parts of it), Lillian yearns for sleep when she's awake, and experiences vivid dreams when she's not.
From then on, the two roommates share a dance - one of yin and yang, of wildness and tenderness, of clashing differences...
...yet growing closeness.
Go Get a Roomie's first book focuses on Roomie's wild hijinks and the characters' personalities. The second book softly branches out to a more tender and spiritual look on these growing bud(die)s, by focusing on the relationship.
Go Get a Roomie! has run as a LGBTQA+ webcomic for over six years, shaped by the moods, inspirations and dreams of its creator, Chloé C. It currently updates three days per week and is part of the online publisher and studio Hiveworks. The comic is aimed at an adult audience and contains (non-sexualized) nudity.
"I nourish [the comic] with as much love and care as I can, and it gives it all back through the characters that live through it, and through the readers that share their own enthusiasm and thoughts on the journey. It's like a viciously gentle cycle! One I love to be part of." - Chloé C.
Chloé is teaming up with Hiveworks again to release a brand-new print edition of Book Two of the webcomic - as well as a reprint of Book One, which has mostly sold out since we Kickstarted it four years ago.
Book Two of Go Get a Roomie! will contain 177 comic strips (Chapters 13-23), as well as chapter covers, plus some additional art selected and created for the book.
The Book One reprint will contain the same chapters and added elements as the first edition.
We'll be producing brand-new merchandise for special reward tiers, namely two postcards, an acrylic charm, and a wooden charm! Chloé is also offering one-of-a-kind rewards like signed bookplates, sketches and even original comic strips (on paper) mailed right to your door.
The highest tier offers the backer a cameo in one of the crowd scenes of the comic. Your drink at Jo's bar is waiting for you!
On all the "single book" tiers, the backer will be able to select whether they want Book One or Two as their reward. The additional rewards of each tier are delivered with the selected book.
Here are the charm and postcard reward designs:
And of course, a gorgeous photo of the Go Get a Roomie! original strips.
Because of the added expense of reprinting Book One, the majority of the funds collected in this campaign will be dedicated to getting these two books printed and shipped around the world. This is also why our starting goal is for a larger amount than in the Book One Kickstarter.
Additionally, this means that we only have one Stretch Goal right now, which is the option to print a hardcover edition of Book Two.
The Hiveworks team will be assisting Chloé during the campaign - managing updates, backer contact, printing and shipping. As a few readers may recall, the first Kickstarter was a bumpy ride. Book Two promises to be a much smoother experience for both the creator and the backers, thanks to all the experience gained by our team and Chloé.
Thank you for your continued support! ☆☆☆
