      Eric on

Been out of the loop for a few updates, and was trolling back to see what had happened, and I feel like I need to say this. As much as I like Mark Meer as Male/Shepard, when I read that he was being brought onto the project, my thoughts were pretty much, "I wonder who did Female/Shepard, she was my favorite voice in that game." You guys have seriously not had a disappointing update yet. It just keeps getting better and better.

    2. Rinu on

@John GT: I had to google Kari Wahlgren and oh my goodness, her Kirsten Geary in The Secret World is priceless. I always looked forward to hear her contemptuous voice :D.

    3. John GT

Heh! I only say "arguably" because I'm sure there are three people out there who disagree. ;-) I myself have serious things for Tara Strong and Kari Wahlgren, so maybe three days out of the year, even I might argue!

I fell for JHale way back as Ivy on Carmen Sandiego, then Princess Morbucks and Seduca on PPG...and then she was on sooooo many PC games! Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, Metal Gear...and then she was Bioware's go-to girl and I loved her forever!

      Bring back Erin Esurance!

John GT: Arguably? What planet do you live on? ;)

I've been in love with Jennifer Hale's voice ever since I played Quest for Glory IV, but I didn't know it until I played Grandia II, after which time I was completely doomed.

/me wonder when the Cam Clarke announcement is coming.

    5. the_ocelot on

I played the whole trilogy as femshep - I love this voice.

Oh wow, Impressive. Most recognizable and popular Female VA imo.
Why don't you just go all out and get Steve Blum, Nolan North and David Hayter too while you're at it :P
Great news, think this is the third of my backed KS games she'll be in now =D

    7. John GT

OMG SERIOUSLY?!? Jennifer Hale is arguably the BEST Western Voice Actress in the world!!! I am SO EXCITED!!!

Guys, don't leave her in an update! Get her picture at the top of your main page NOW! If you can't fund in hours after that, the Forty-Eighters will JUMP all over this if she's the first thing they see!!

Every now and again you come across an announcement that takes you completely by surprise.
John Carmack being appointed as CTO of Oculus. Valve unveiling their plans for their own OS.
Mark Meer & Jennifer Hale joining the Hinterland team for The Long Dark is just as amazing.

Jennifer imho has the most beautiful voice on earth, and the only thing that outstrips that beauty is the sheer weight of identity she lends to the characters she portrays. I'm not even the slightest bit embarrassed to admit that Bastila Shan is my biggest game crush of all time! :P

Mark... I can't wait to go on another adventure with you man, I'm at a loss for words for how awesome this is gonna be. You're the first male voice actor that has ever made me *feel* the conviction behind your persuasions and threats as if you were standing there with your ass on the line. I cried at the end of ME3, but they were tears of fulfilment.

Upping my pledge because of this announcement.

      Toufexis - Meer - Hale?

It's time to kick this game into overdrive.

PS: Her Femshep was amazing, played 95% of my games with her

    12. Lucas Seuren on

Not really a surprise, as I assume most of us recognized her in the intro video. Still good to see it's official.

    13. Elie on

This is great news, welcome Jennifer :)

Awesome! Even more exciting that Jennifer is originally from my home province of Newfoundland and Labrador! If she grew up in Goose Bay, she's got some legit cold weather and outdoors experience to bring to this project. Very excited!

    15. Shawn Roets on

I had a feeling this might happen when Mark Meer joined, so excited to see it confirmed! Gotta love a bit of Femshep.

This voice acting cast has got talent on talent on talent and the writing is going to be top notch. I hope people realize there's going to be a fully fleshed out cast of characters and this isn't just "Die Cold and Alone: The Game"
