Let me know if you guys are planning a North America tour that may bring you down into the U.S., the lower parts, since I don't think I can convince my wife to allow me to up my contribution and purchase air fare to come up there. You guys are doing an awesome job with the project community so far by the way, can't wait to see what follows.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. We definitely want people to pledge in Kickstarter if they can, because we want to achieve our goal and deliver this game to you.

However, what we're hearing from some of the community is they would like to back the game but aren't set up with credit cards and so are unable to do so. Using credit cards to buy things online doesn't seem as common in many countries outside of North America. PayPal can be linked directly to a bank account, so it's more accessible for a lot of people.

We will always favour people backing us on Kickstarter first. But, for the people who want to back us and can't through Kickstarter, we'd like to give them an option to become involved too.

      Hope that makes sense!

Yeah paypal won't help us reach anything, I've never understood this concern anyway as every single kickstarter I back ultimately gets charged to my Credit card anyway through Amazon. Is this different for Americans/other regions?

Loving the t-shirts designs so added it to my pledge :D

I really like the open endedness of the two strangers on the road, the number of possible interactions that could result in that meeting in a scenario such as the one presented in this game make are near infinite.

I agree with ETD. Don't offer PayPal before you are funded. PayPal doesn't count towards your goal on Kickstarter.

I'd buy one! Do it, Hinterland.

    8. Hinterland Creator on

@Andrew -- that is a great idea for a shirt. If others agree, let us know!

    9. Hinterland Creator on

@Rowan -- Add-Ons allow you to add a T-shirt onto your pledge. Basically you add the cost of the Add-On ($25 in the case of a T-shirt) and increase your pledge by that amount (but do not change your reward tier). Details on how to increase your pledge are in the FAQ section (at the bottom of the The Long Dark page).

One important thing about the T-shirt Add-On: if you have pledged to a tier with physical goods, then you don't have to add any additional shipping for the Add-On. If you have pledged to an All-Digital tier, then add $10 for shipping to USA/Canada or $20 shipping for International.

Hope that all makes sense! Check out the Add-Ons section on the main page for more detail, and please let us know if you have any other questions.

You need to make a shirt with the Hinterland logo on it. Easy.

So how do we add a T-shirt to an existing pledge? Sorry I'm new to kick starter.

    13. Hinterland Creator on

@Gordon -- that is the back of the T-shirt!

    14. ETD on

One thing about Paypal: I don't think you should accept Paypal until you either clear the 200k or it becomes obvious that you can, because if (and let's hope that's not the case) the campaign fails you would have to do complicated refunds for all paypal supporters.

You can always add a "slacker backer" option on the site after this campaign.

The logo t-shirt would look even nicer if the logo was left-of-centre, like over the pocket area.
