About this project
We love vinyl, and we know a lot of you do too! After successfully funding High Five Spaceship's third studio album, we're launching this extra campaign specifically for a vinyl release. If we hit the target, we'll be able to press our third album and complete a lot of people's collections (including our own).
This is also a chance for those who didn't back the main campaign, but wanted to, to get involved! We've carried over a lot of the perks that were still available. Even if you're not interested in vinyl, you can still pre-order the album and get some great stuff.
Daniel Dobbs - We are very excited to announce that Daniel will be returning to work on the third album! Daniel Dobbs is an incredibly talented guitarist, singer, songwriter, and composer. He has released several successful solo EPs, and currently composes original songs and scores for short films and television.

Exclusive Vinyl Perks!
VINYL STANDARD EDITION - This one is for anyone who just wants the vinyl, no extras. If you already backed the main campaign and you want to upgrade to include a vinyl, this is for you.
VINYL DELUXE EDITION - This tier gets you a vinyl edition of the record plus an exclusive lyric sheet, and a digital download of the bonus tracks and digital scrapbook.
COMPLETE VINYL COLLECTION - Get a copy of the new album on vinyl, plus vinyl editions of our first two albums Progress and MMCCXV. Perfect for new listeners who want the whole set! This is set at an exclusive discounted rate compared to buying them individually, plus it saves on postage!
YELLOW ALBUM WHITE LABEL - Extremely limited perk for serious collectors! Get a factory test pressing of the new album alongside your standard vinyl edition. The factory usually only presses 4-5 of these, and we will endeavour to have as many collaborators as possible sign them.
What is it?
This will be a 10-12 track album, coming in at around 50-60 minutes run time, composed and produced by Christopher Bingham and a roster of guests, some new, some old. Expect familiar artists from Progress and MMCCXV, with a few new features TBA.
We'll be releasing worldwide in Summer 2018 on major digital platforms and CD. We are also considering a vinyl release, subject to demand. (That will come later.)
Where is it?
Bing works out of South London, but the HWW Team and our collaborators are based all over the world in Europe, USA, and Australia. The album will be available digitally to every human with an internet connection and the physical editions will deliver to anywhere it is possible to deliver to.
What are the costs?
Pressing vinyl is a dying art, and it's also very, very different to making CDs or other physical media. The set up costs alone mean that factories do not usually offer smaller runs than around 300 units. That will cost just over £1,000 GBP.
Luckily, all our other costs (licensing, legal, accounting, artwork, etc.) should be covered by our successful main campaign. The goal here is purely the figure we need for manufacturing a limited run of vinyls, with dust jackets and full-colour sleeves.
What do you get?
We have some amazing perks this time around. Check the side of the page for a full list and details! All backers at ANY level get access to the backers-only blog and secret Tumblr.
Get a digital download of the album on the day of release. This is available in standard or deluxe edition (which comes with 5 extra tracks).
Get the album on CD (plus direct digital download). This will be a very limited pressing of CDs, between 500-1,000 based on demand. This version is also available in standard or deluxe (which comes with the 5 digital bonus tracks).
Entropy Is Important CD
Exclusive to this Kickstarter, we'll be home-pressing copies of our most recent EP Entropy Is Important. These will be strictly made to order, doodled on and signed with Sharpies by Bing and collaborators, delivered in a clear jewel case.
We're going back through the HFS archives to photocopy notebooks, find stills and Instagram posts from live events, collect notes, lyrics, and screenshots of project files for a digital scrapbook. Covering all three albums, this will be a 20+ page PDF that comes with your digital download on the day of release.
Skype with the Producer
For a very limited number of backers, get a 1-hour Skype call with Bing during the production of the album. You'll get a look at some of the equipment we're using, hear some works in progress, and talk shop about producing the album.
Indie License Packs
Our amazing Indie License option is one of the best ways to support HFS and get something really useful. Design for independent creators like YouTubers, vloggers, short filmmakers, and podcasters, this perk gives you access to a huge library of instrumentals, stems, and alternate versions to use in your own work. You also get a lifetime license agreement that allows you to use the material in your own work and share it online (including monetised on YouTube).
The Stretch Goal!
We made it half way to our stretch goal on the main campaign, so we've carried over the remaining amount to this one.
If we reach a total of £1,500, we will be able to host a launch party for the album next summer in London. Every Kickstarter backer over 18 will be invited to this completely one-off event. We'll get together and listen to the album, chat with the artists, hand out some HFS swag, and party until late.
If this sounds exciting and you really want to go, consider adding a little extra £ to your pledge to help us reach the stretch!
Risks and challenges
Vinyl is expensive to manufacture, but we've done the maths. That's why we are running this as a separate campaign! If we don't hit our goal, we won't be able to make vinyl. It will be sad, but we'll be ok, and you will still be able to order it on CD and digital.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
