Introducing the Halflight 375 Flask
With 1-full sized tumbler & measuring in at 375ml, the Halflight 375 keeps half a bottle of your favorite spirit at the perfect temperature all day long.
Designed for your rough & tumble lifestyle, it fits easily into your purse or backpack. It’s vacuum insulated, leak-proof, with a polished stainless steel construction and the 6-shooter tumbler magnetically attaches to your flask.
What makes the Halflight 375 special?
High Camp’s goal is to redesign the outdoor drinking tradition from one that conceals drinking outside to one that celebrates it.
Bootleggers originally designed hip flasks to conceal their spirits from the authorities during the American prohibition era. Since then, outdoor enthusiasts have gravitated towards this vessel for consuming spirits for its packability. We enjoy this coat-pocket stash like everyone else, especially on long chair lift rides, but our qualms originated from those celebratory moments around the campfire when we busted out the top-shelf bourbon from our multi-day packs. Our hip flasks were too small for weekend trips and bottle swigging felt disrespectful to the distillers who spent 12 years aging their proprietary malts.
We looked at what the outdoor brands in this space were doing and we saw a lot of plastic & paint. The leaders in vacuum insulation were building products for coffee and soda-pop in volumes without correlation to craft spirits and how they are consumed.
After countless camping trips and as our appetites for new American craft spirits grew, we decided: Just because we’re outdoors, doesn’t mean we have to drink like animals.
A handshake sealed the pact and High Camp was born.
Our quest began with the goal to build the ultimate bar glass for the backcountry. We quickly established a few non-negotiable design considerations: It needed to be big, rugged and perform as well or better than our favorite rocks-glasses at home. In addition, we wanted to honor the spirit of American Whiskey and the history of the frontier.
With our imaginations blazing, we landed on the aesthetic of a Colt .45 revolver. At 11 fluid oz., our 6-Shooter Tumbler comfortably accommodates a proper tumbler grip: Index, middle & ring finger around the sides, and the pinky underneath. The stainless steel double-wall insulation preserves the temperature of the contents and it works for hot or cold beverages. We kept the interior surface of the tumbler flush, unlike a threaded plastic canteen mug-lid, and we weighted the bottom of the tumbler to ensure it didn’t tip easily.
Now, we needed to design a flask that would transport and preserve the quality of craft spirits for any outdoor adventure. This meant absolutely no plastic, both for environmental reasons and for imbibing reasons: Stainless steel is infinitely recyclable and the electropolished interior does not impart any unwanted flavors. We also integrated vacuum-insulation for 24-hour temperature control (for both hot and cold cocktails) and a wide-mouth that allows for easy filling and easy pouring. As a result, we engineered the first ever vacuum insulated bottle with a patent pending no-drip lip, so you get a clean pour every time.
But how could we attach the tumbler to our flask without compromising the interior of the tumbler and without embellishing the exterior of the flask? The solution: Magnets (patent-pending). Alas, we found a material for the weighted bottom of the tumbler and we preserved the thread-less interior. Better yet, the tumbler fit snugly over the top of a flask to easily transport both a flask and tumbler without taking up any extra space in our packs.
Lastly, our flask needed to look sleek enough to sit on your bar cart at home as a constant nudge that, “if your going to drink, drink outside.” The final touch was the “floating lid”, which renders our flask in the likeness of a traditional crystal decanter bar set.
What comes with it?
All Halflight 375 Flasks come individually packed and includes a microfiber sleeve to that you can carry your flask in. It's also for wiping out your cup after you drink out of it (prevents that flask from getting sticky).

Cost Breakdown Versus Competitors & Our Value Proposition
The Halflight 375 is 2 distinct products in 1-space saving design.
If you already own a Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated (SSVI) Bottle and a stainless steel mug, the odds are very high that those products were sold separately. Each item is distinct: Your SSVI bottle transports liquids securely inside your bag, while your mug allows you to sip continuously on-a-stroll. Both perform equally without the other. Conversely, if you bought a SSVI canteen with a mug-lid attached, chances are that the bottle and mug-lid components connect via threading. Our bet is that you prefer sipping out of your “sold separately” SSVI mug than your canteen’s clunky mug-lid. Same goes for that naked canteen in comparison to your sold-separately SSVI bottle.
At High Camp, we didn’t set out to make another canteen with a mug-lid. With the Halflight 375, we integrate a fully finished stand-alone tumbler with a sleek and thread-less SSVI flask. Going 1-step further, we designed our preferred rocks-glass for the indoors and out. This 6-Shooter tumbler is what we sip whiskey out of at home. It’s what we sip whiskey out of around the campfire. It’s what we take take on long flights to avoid using 1-time use plastics. It’s what we sip out of at coffee shops while we rise and grind. Thus, by integrating a classic rocks-glass design with a little magic from magnets, we created 2 products with a sum greater than their parts. The value of owning the Halflight 375 is the performance of 2 complete products in 1-space saving design.
The material choice was easy. 18/8 food grade stainless steel met our standards for both durability and shine. Sparing no expense, we use the thickest stainless steel possible to make it bomb proof. It will bend, but it won’t break. The only materials on the Halflight 375 Flask that are not stainless steel are the magnets and the silicone gasket to seal the lid.
To ensure that the whiskey you put in your Flask tonight doesn't taste like the coffee you had this morning, every flask has an electropolished interior. This process makes the steel microscopically featureless removing any pores or imperfections that flavor could impart itself on.
Other manufacturers use plastic lids on steel bottles for a two primary reasons: Cut costs & save time. Petroleum-based plastic lids are cheap and easy to mass produce. Manufacturing stainless steel lids with threading is a more labor intensive process and the material cost is much higher. At the end of the day, whether you support plastic or revile it, it simply cannot compare to stainless steel in durability, design & insulative properties.
Why Kickstarter & How is our 2nd Campaign Different?
In October 2017, we came to the Kickstarter community to turn our idea for The Firelight Flask 750ml into a reality. Due to your support, we raised over $78,000 and delivered the first round of production to our backers in August 2018.
Thanks to your insights and feedback, you inspired us to create the Halflight 375 Flask - a smaller version, just for you.
While our last campaign validated our product and brand, this new campaign is a product release. We now have lower fixed costs and we are able to offer deeper discounts for our pre-sale. This also means you will receive your flasks within a month of your purchase. As soon as we hit “go” on the the kickstarter campaign, your rewards will already be in transit from our factory.
After the Early Bird Specials are gone!
International Shipping & Ways to Save
In order for us to offer the lowest possible price for our Early Bird deals, our margins on each reward are razor thin. So, if our shipping rates are off by just a few dollars, it means the difference between us losing money or simply breaking even on each backer’s purchase.
International shipping is particularly risky as estimates vary wildly from carrier to another. For example, when shipping 2 flasks to Taiwan via USPS in a “flat rate box” vs. a “small parcel” the difference in price is $73-$80 respectively. Breaking that down at $3.5 per flask and you can see that it is 9% of the reward price per flask for the Early Bird reward. The difference of the same 2 flasks being sent USPS vs UPS is $73-$246 respectively. If for some reason we could not ship a specific parcel via USPS to an international backer, we could lose nearly $100 on that backer. Multiply that by 100 backers and you have some serious problems.
Pro Tip: Share with friends to Save - The more flasks shipped in a single parcel, the lower the cost of shipping per flask becomes. So, back us, then share our page with a few friends and see if anyone wants to share a shipment with you. You can always increase your pledge amount so be sure to first lock in your early bird discount and then share it with your network. Please also read Customs and Duty Rates section below.
Please select your most accurate region. Ex: If you live in Italy and you have the option to select shipping rates to Italy or the European Union, please select Italy. If you do not see your country listed, please shoot us a message and we will respond to you with a solution.
Customs & Duty Rates
Import duties and taxes are not included in our rewards. These charges will vary by country and are entirely out of our control. Because of this, it is extremely difficult for us to include this in our tiers as we will be shipping across the globe. We highly recommend international backers look into the customs costs & duties associated with importing this product.
Risks and challenges
This is our 2nd Kickstarter and we have already completed production and quality control. Your flasks are in-transit and they will be ready to ship out as soon as our campaign ends in March.
Obviously, there are unforeseeable circumstances that could delay us, and we have padded our timeline just in case.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
