MEET THE WRITER

Gail Simone is an award-winning, fan-favorite writer of comics and animation. She was first noticed for the early geek feminist website WOMEN IN REFRIGERATORS, that questioned the common cliché of female characters dying solely to motivate male characters in genre fiction. She's written what some consider definitive runs on books as diverse as Red Sonja, Deadpool and Batgirl. She's also written several animated projects, including Tomb Raider, Justice League Unlimited and the Wonder Woman animated film. She remains an activist voice for better and more diverse representation in comics.

QUICK Q & A

Q: What's a misconception about you?

A: That I don't like guys. I happen to love guys, I don't like male-bashing of any kind. Lots of my inspiration and support has come from dudes, I think they're awesome.

Q: Your top tip for a budding young writer or artist?

A: Show your work. A script you show someone is a story, a script you keep hidden is a journal.

Q: How do you know when to call a page a finished page?

A: When someone is either bleeding or aroused.

Q: What do you find beautiful?

A:  Kindness.

Q: What do you find repulsive?

A: Bullying

Q: Who wins in a fight, Godzilla or King Kong?

A: Godzilla, in the same way Superman beats Batman.  They're toast before they can even get within fighting range.

MEET THE ARTIST
