Detailing the Tiers

Posted by Hidden Path Entertainment, AMD & Razer (Creator)

As the project has organically grown over time, and as things have gotten a bit more complex on the tiers, we have now added tables outlining what each pledge tier choice will provide to you more specifically.  The tables are included here and found at the bottom of the main page.  Find the table that details your pledge tier choice.

Tiers $15 through $108:

Tiers $110 to $325:

Because they closed my thread without a notice. I was unaware of the reason why it was closed, and I had no one to contact in regards to this so I re-posted the thread.

They apparently did not like this and suspended my forum account but I dont really mind....I know before they closed the thread I had about 15 people saying they would be I accomplished what I wanted to do.

Im glad we reached the minimum but it sickens me to see....other....borderline scam projects on kickstarter with over a million. (Hint it rhymes with Goya)

    2. Bill Schneider on

That seems a bit arbitary, I guess saying 'go give money to this' may be against the rules although its the forums that are a branch of a hugely profitable shop... hmm...

    3. Hidden Path Entertainment, AMD & Razer Creator on

      what? Why were you suspended?

    4. Greg Chierchia on

Real sickening how greedy the world is. I got suspended from Steam forums for posting about this kickstarter,

Yay, $250k, w00t! Now if only another $750k would roll in in the next three days... I want DG2 damnit!

      But congrats anyway!

As long as, at the end, I get a new DG, the rest is just details, right? :)

A mere $736 to go. I can almost taste the raspberries.

Very helpful, will put many doubts to rest.

Sure, we'll work to take everyone's desires into account. If you don't want to be listed or don't want a physical good to come to you, we'll work to follow your wishes. David if that is something you are sure about, send us a message directly and we can enter it into the database of backers.

@William and @HPE: BEAUTIFUL! Incredible effort and instinctively appealing to strategy game fanatics like all of us. But really, do we want this much native (and inescapable) complication in trying to back a project and a company we love? That's not aimed at you guys, that's aimed directly at for making this so hard for all of us... on both sides of the "pledge" button in this endeavor.

    18. Ryan Saul on

Whoa, somebody really likes spreadsheets over there :D

Love the accellerated and precision backer credits! Appropriately named.

Dear lord. That is really complicated, and for the first time, I understand what my $125 is getting me besides DG2 and a graphics card, so props.

BD - credit William for the original work. I then spent 30 mins or so editing and adding in the discount tiers and such, but he created the main format. It is always easier to edit someone else's good work than it is to create something from scratch yourself.

nutjob, I think we'll be very hesitant to come back to kickstarter for more money unless it is for a completely different game. We aren't interested in getting a small number of people to pledge more and more, rather we're interested in getting a larger number of people to bid a little. We weren't able to get the word out as broadly as we had expected this go around, and if we did another attempt with DG2, I think we'd just be asking this same group for more money and well, we wouldn't feel too good about that frankly. The hope honestly is that one of the groups we're talking with on the side is willing to bridge the gap for terms that we can all agree upon and will stay true to the promises we've made here on Kickstarter. If that doesn't happen, then we'll likely work to earn the gap ourselves through other projects we do.

Those charts are fantastic, nice one.

    24. Beat Darwin on

Oh man, these are beautiful and an obvious labor of love, but if these aren't an indicator of what is wrong with the KS platform, I don't know what is. Jeff, I hope you will use these prominently in your PAX Dev talk.

    25. Hidden Path Entertainment, AMD & Razer Creator on

Yes, basically we need to get new content on our engine, we need to get multiplayer working on our engine, we need to bring the engine to Mac and LInux, and we need to develope a level editor all for DG2. The fastest and least expensive way to do this is to go and do that for DG2 and all those things are there when we released. In order to come up with reasonable tiers we developed things we could release along the way for $500k and $750k that would be valuable to players and cost just a small amount more than doing DG2 only, but not much more. Now knowing that we have $250k almost funded, and that we'll be striving to get our way to DG2 as closely as possible on our own or with another infusion of financing, we'll likely not focus on the interim releases and just on having those same features be in DG2.

Thanks Greg ad Alex, that's what I figured, and it does make sense. I also figure they'll be coming back to Kickstarter with a new structure to try and raise more money. Having various goodies to unload from sponsors makes a lot of sense since it seems to be a win for everyone.

    27. Alex Collins on

I believe they mean multiplayer and Mac will be for DG2, rather than DG1 and 2 as it would have been if the stretch goals had been met, from other comments I've seen.
Which I personally feel makes sense to an extent: I feel that DG1 should be ported to the Mac and Linux (which I hope they do), but I'd rather they didn't waste time/money putting multiplayer into DG1. I don't feel it makes sense to do so.

Thank you so much for the chart. Everything makes since now!

    29. Greg Wicklund on

nutjob: I think there'll still be both of those with DG2. The interim tiers were for remastering DG1 and adding co-op and the like to that one. (if I read it right of course)

    30. Missing avatar

      nutjob on

So no multiplayer and no Mac version?

    31. Hidden Path Entertainment, AMD & Razer Creator on

No new deadlines, we move forward knowing we crossed goal 1, and then we focus on goal 4 and either earning or raising the money needed to achieve goal 4 - a full fledged sequel: DG2

Looks like you'll reach 250K, what happens with the next 3 goals, do you set new deadlines?
