Hi Mariquel and Gaston - looking to buy new hickies (v2?) - any chance you guys are going to be offering something to the backers for the holidays?

    7. Creator Mariquel & Gaston on September 10, 2013

@Alan Hey, thanks for the kind note. Sorry to hear that one of them snapped. If you could do us a huge favor, could you please email support@hickies.com and let them know that one of your HICKIES snapped so that they can help resolve this issue?

    8. Creator Alan Plum on September 10, 2013

I've had mine in daily use since they first arrived and so far only one of them snapped. All in all I find them extremely useful and the black ones are subdued enough that they go nicely with shoes other than sneakers and sportswear quite well. Definitely looking forward to buying more hickies the next time I'm buying a pair of shoes.

    9. Creator Adrien on September 5, 2013

This a little overdue but thank you so much for the replacement pairs of Hickies, you guys really went above and beyond to replace the ones that had broke on me! Thank you again, Hickies rock!

@Adrien No problem. We received your email. Thanks so much for your support and feedback. Hope you had a great Fourth of July!

    12. Creator Adrien on July 4, 2013

Thanks for the fast response, and Happy 4th of July! It's great to hear you guys are working on a new stronger type of Hickie, I plan on being a loyal customer so it's nice to know that there's something even better in the works. I sent an e-mail to that address in regards to the replacements but I forgot to mention on here (I did in the e-mail though) that I didn't actually save any of the ones that broke so I won't be able to send those ones back. Anyway thanks again for the fast response and for offering to replace the broken Hickies, and I hope that you guys are enjoying some 4th of July celebrations!

    13. Creator Mariquel & Gaston on July 1, 2013

      Hey Adrien,

We agree with you that it shouldn't happen. We are actually in the process of creating a new HICKIE that is stronger and more elastic. We want to make our product the best. Please email us at social@HICKIES.com so we can replace your broken HICKIES. We look forward to hearing from you

    14. Creator Adrien on June 30, 2013

I just wanted to say that since receiving these last year I really do love not having to tie my main pair of sneakers anymore (I still have to do it the "old fashioned" way with my workout sneakers, kind of worried that using them while working out might cause some damage). After using them for the past 7 or 8 months I really find it funny that there was nothing like this for sneakers before Hickies were created because right now I can't imagine going back to laces. The reason that I am here today, though, is similar to Michael a few posts down. I love using these as replacements for having to tie sneakers, but out of the gray/white box that I ordered last year I've had at least 4 or 5 break on me. I originally ordered 4 boxes (2 for me, 2 for someone else) but I've actually only been using the grey/white ones since first using Hickies. In every case I wasn't doing anything extreme or anything in my sneakers, I have them on the pair that I wear to work and just regular going out sneakers so I'm still a little puzzled as to why they broke in the first place. Either way though I'm still happy with Hickies for what they can do, but as of right now I'm down to an even number of grey/white so if anymore break on me I'm going to have to switch it up with the black Hickies to keep each sneaker balanced or maybe do some sort of combination between the two.

Yet another break on the top Hickies. Thats 3 breaks so far since I've had them and they didnt last a year! I'm walking around with more on one side of my foot then the other. Looks like I'm headed back to laces. To bad because I get a lot of inquiries about my kicks and how clean they look. I cant justify referring them until that pesky issue is fixed though. Got a reply from support once. But only to try pre stretching them and nothing since then so I did. But it still broke. There are a lot of comments about this issue. Any solution in sight? Already backed Lace Anchors after the second Hickie broke... just in case there was not.

    19. Creator Mariquel & Gaston on May 5, 2013

@Debbie Thank you so much for the suggestion. Actually, don't want to give to much away before it's actually out, but we have a solution to you and your husbands problem. As I said, don't want to give away the secret just yet, but your experience with HICKIES is about to get a million times better.

Thank you so much for supporting us and helping us reach our goal. We wouldn't be where we are without the great help and support from you and your husband.

Too tight. Hurt my feet. Have em on my vans and chucks. Pre stretched. Should also be a smaller size because they're too big for the lowest set of eyelets. Had to leave them out of the bottom because it looked ridiculous.

Hey Garrett, Yeah we have seen the Slikkies product. We have been trying to respectfully take action, but it is frustrating to see counterfeiters out on popular sites like Facebook and Amazon. If you continue to find stuff like this please let us know, email us at social@hickies.com

@Michael Hey, we understand your frustration completely. We are working on different ways to fix this problem that people are having and will have a permeant solution soon. In the mean time, please email us at support@hickies.com so that we can resolve your broken HICKIE issue.

    36. Creator Michael on February 24, 2013

I swapped mine out right when we got them. I only wear a size 9.5 and have had the top hickie break on me twice since I also swapped .. Sorry, I like the product but broken loops area bust when it feels like your shoes are going to slide off. Anything we can do about this guy's? Might I suggest a little thicker, and a little longer top hickie . Any other fix in the meantime?

    37. Creator Mariquel & Gaston on February 22, 2013

@Try G Oh no. That can't be fun. Please email us at support@hickies.com so that we can help fix this problem. That must be frustrating to have the top lace break more than once. We look forward to your email :)

    38. Creator Trey G on February 22, 2013

I'm with you @Shaun Guth. I wear a size 13, have my hickies on only four out of six lace loops and break the top one on frequent basis. I've snapped about four now. I don't think people with larger feet were part of the QC process.

    39. Creator Mariquel & Gaston on February 21, 2013

@Shuan Guth: We are so sorry to hear that! That shouldn't be happening. I can imagine that ordeal being a headache for you. Please email us at support@hickies.com so that we can further assist you and fix the problems you are having. Looking forward to your email. Thank you for your support and your feedback.

    40. Creator Shaun Guth on February 20, 2013

Been using my hickies since I received them late last year. 3 have broken, two of them come undone on a regular basis now. It's more work than tying my shoes at this point, so I'm going back to laces.

Too bad about the durability, because they're kind of fun to wear.

    41. Creator Mariquel & Gaston on February 18, 2013

@Yaron Golan: Wow! Thanks man. That was really nice of you to say. We appreciatie you, our fans and supporters and backers a lot. We know without you guys none of this would be possible, so to ignore you or not give you credit for what you have done to help HICKIES would be wrong. So thank you for everything.

I think there has to be a larger size for hickes for shoes with a larger tongue area. Consider for your next version.

      @Gunsta
Hey Gunsta, have you tried pre-stretching them before putting them on your kicks?

Thank you for your suggestion on the design, we appreciate your comments and feedback.

In the mean time, watch this video for using HICKIES for a looser and wider fit.

    46. Creator OMG on January 24, 2013

my hickies were way too tight and i'm a petite size of a person....i say these are for kids.
i prefer my laces, somehow at first i thought the hickies would look cool but it's still missing some proportion adjustments...perhaps flattened instead of round bodied?

    47. Creator Mariquel & Gaston on January 24, 2013

      Friends and backers of HICKIES!

First off, we want to publicly thank all of you for making this project and dream come true. We want to share some good news with you to make you feel proud!

We just posted a new update under the update section announcing big news regarding HICKIES and the upcoming Grammys, as well as the hiring of a new experience manager to help all you with any questions or feedback.

We are so happy to know HICKIES backers are from all around the world. We would like to share through our social media updates, pictures of HICKIES in their new homes throughout the world.

Send us a picture to social@hickies.com of your HICKIES in their new environment (like the one you see below) and tell us where it is. In return, we will send a HICKIES t-shirt to the first 300 participants that send us a picture, and host a fun contest on FB to see who can guess where that place is!

With that said, who can guess where these HICKIES are kicking it?

      @Jeffery Miller:
Jeffery, we are sorry that they feel tight on your feet. Have you tried pre- stretching them? Here is a video showing you how to stretch them before putting them on your shoes (http://vimeo.com/57404806) If there is anything else that we can help you with or assist you in, please email us at support@hickies.com

    49. Creator Jeffery Miller on January 23, 2013

Not a fan....too tight.....too prone to break. Sorry but this one was a FAIL!

    50. Creator Mariquel & Gaston on January 22, 2013

@Scott Levine: Thanks for contacting us!

Please let me share with you some techniques we have to make the HICKIES loosen up:

      1) You can pre-stretch the HICKIES before putting them on (they can be stretched to twice their size and then revert back to their original size). Once stretched, the HICKIES material loosens up.

      2) We have created this video with a few techniques to hook the HICKIES in diverse ways for a wider fit: http://www.youtube.com/watch…

If neither of these work for you please send us an email at support@hickies.com and we will make it right for you.

Thanks for your support and help
