First Ever game about Text-walkers! -Hey, Look up!
Fun game about "Text-walkers" and their journey to become "Virtually Famous". Go VIRAL or Go HOME!
Watch a longer intro to our story with more details on “Hey, Look up!”
The recipe: Take a Hungarian boy heart full of dreams to create games. Add a Thai girl falling in love into this boy sharing his passion. The result is marriage for life and a game studio called: DRACO INTRA
The studio opened in early 2015 by me and my wife Nina. BTW my name is Gabor and this is our story of creating "Hey, Look up!".
"Hey, Look up!" is an all-new type of mission based endless runner game about "Text-walkers".
In "Hey, Look up!" you can control them but make sure to avoid collision with other text-walkers and street obstacles.
Now try this...in order to unlock characters or climb the leaderboard, first you have to collect FOLLOWERS....and how do you do that? No...you cannot buy them with the coins or gems you would find on the street. :) You have to work hard to earn your followers by
-taking as many Instagram SELFIES as you can #duckface4ever
-sending Twitter TWEETS until your finger bleeds
-and shoot YouTube VIDEOS like there is no 2morrow
...and that is how you became VIRTUALLY FAMOUS!
Where shall we start?
How about in the middle of the city. Yeah,...that will be nice :)
Your goal is to complete missions while collecting followers.
More missions you complete more NEW locations you unlock. Like the TUBE map.
Keep on completing missions to UNLOCK the BEACH map.
Three maps is good but five (or more) would be better. Your support will allow us to create more maps (mall, airport...etc).
We didn't want to make a game where you would collect bunch of coins, stars, gems or even bananas lying around on the streets. We wanted something more original than that. The subject of the game gave us the answer. As you play as a text-walker you will have to collect FOLLOWERS in the game. And, you do that in the same way you would in real life...by building up your SOCIAL NETWORKS.
There will be three main ways to build your social networks and GAIN FOLLOWERS.
Once you collected a "Power-up", better be ready because you have got only couple of seconds to take the Instagram selfies, send the Twitter tweets or pack action into your YouTube video.
You're probably thinking: "Why this game doesn't come out on PC, Linux or at least Mac"? The game originally has been designed for mobiles, tablets and it delivers the best experience when players are using their fingers to control text-walkers.
Apple TV (stretch goal) will allow us to show more of your text-walkers with even closer view. That is because you will control the characters from your remote and we don't have to block space for your finger to do that.
We are coming out on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on the first quarter of this year by the end of April. Achieved stretch goals are coming on the following quarters. Our goal is to make the game available to everybody regardless what the operating system they use and love. "Hey, Look up!" is a MUST PLAY GAME...
One of the words you could describe our team is "small". That is correct. We knew this from the very beginning. However that could never stop us to create "Hey, Look up!" the way it looks today. We are very passionate about the game and have got everything we need to create something truly AMAZING. We all proud to "Think different" :) and to be DRAGONS. However,...reaching our stretch goals means that we will have more dragons joining the team :)
The game is about 60% ready (main goal - iOS devices) and we're expecting the release on this April. We have put lots of new features into "Hey, Look up!", which caused delays but we are very happy because the game is so much better now. The City map is fully working now and the next step is to build the other maps too.
We would like to say thank you for visiting our Kickstarter campaign. It really means a lot to us. Please spread the word about this awesome game. Tell your friends, your family, shout it out on the street "Hey, look up!":) Every little exposure helps. Only YOU can make "Hey, look up!" happen.
Thank you very much!
Risks and challenges
Although Draco Intra is an unheard of studio, we have the utmost confidence in our vision. Also, we've built a highly experienced team that can work through every obstacle.
That being said, game development comes with inevitable speedbumps including surprise costs and delays.
Our biggest challenge will be to port the game to lots of different platforms and reach new audiences. A challenge we cannot wait to face.
