In the past, it has been difficult, inconvenient and in many cases impossible to properly protect your saddle, wheels or other components from THEFT. Hexlox solves this problem elegantly with its next generation patented lock and its unique and personal key system.
We didn't want to produce another security bolt, so we had to think outside the box. Your bike already has perfectly good bolts to fasten your components. We just needed to invent a way to stop unwanted access and unscrewing of them. We are very proud that this is exactly what Hexlox does, magnificently!
To secure a saddle or a wheel just insert a Hexlox with your unique & personal key into the bolt you want to protect from being opened. The bolt is then instantly safe and magically all unwanted access is blocked. Your Standard bolts have now become Security Bolts. Only YOU have access with your key.
The Hexlox come in the common bolt sizes 4#, 5# & 6#.
Each Hexlox weighs less than 2 Gram, so it won't disturb your overall ride weight :-).

To Install: Insert Hexlox with your unique & personal key, TURN and remove the key
To Unlock: Push the key straight into the Hexlox and pull it straight out and the Hexlox will come out.
It really takes no skills at all. Even your grandmother could do this :-)
Hexlox is also a deterrent against the theft of your whole bike.
Most stolen bikes are being stripped for their parts.
With all your parts secured with Hexlox, a thief might move onto an easier target.
Hexlox Sets come with a unique & personal Key. You also get a KeyCard with your 3 digit code on it. Your Hexlox can ONLY be opened with the same coded key. By using the 3 digit number you can easily order more Hexlox that fit your personal key.
With Hexlox you can secure anything.
On a bike, all removable parts are at risk of theft. Common things to secure are Saddle, Wheels, Stem, Handlebars, Pedals, Derailleur and grips. As long as your component is fastened with a Hex / Inbus / Allen Bolt, Hexlox can secure it.
The Hexlox will be produced in Germany. This was very important to us as quality in a product like this, is of utmost importance. It is produced from the Highest Quality 316 Stainless Steel. It is rustproof, weather proof and extremely hard. We have taken the development all the way through to Mass Manufacture Ready Fully Working Prototypes. This means our Final Prototypes have been produced from the very same machine that will produce the Final Product you will receive.
The Hexlox is Safe. The Hexlox locks into the bolt with a magnet. But you can't use a magnet to get it out since its magnetically shielded. We've also tested it to withstand: tweezers, lock picking tools, needle nose pliers, gator/vise grip, hammer, liquid ice, hacksaw, screw drivers and numerous other things.
We were so confident that we took it to the Berlin Lockpicking Society (yes it really exist) where one of the members tried to get it out.

It fits your bike
Hexlox are designed to work in any standard hex bolt. Any bolt which has 6 sides;
If the bolt you want to secure is currently not a hex bolt, we can supply one with your order. Just add this in your Reward, or have one installed at your local bike shop.
At the end of the campaign, we will send you a survey where together we determine which Hexlox, keys and replacement bolts you need.
Quick release: In many cases, the bolt you want to secure will have a Quick Release bolt or 'Skewer'. You will need to replace these with regular Hex Bolts or Hex 'Skewers'.
Nuts: If your wheel or saddle is secured by a nut, we can supply the necessary hardware with your order.
Non magnetic bolts: In very rare cases very expensive bikes might use non-magnetic Titanium, Aluminium or Stainless Steel Bolts. This is not a problem, we can supply a magnetic insert for these bolts, or a replacement bolt.
Disclaimer & Advice: On a bike that is being parked on the street it is never a good idea to have Quick Release bolts due to the risk of theft. People tend to very seldom raise their saddle or change their wheel. And, in case you need to, it's only an Allen Key or Bike shop away. Sound advice.
How it all began
Hexlox was driven by our desperation to find a smart and easy way to protect our own saddles and wheels. We tried most of the other products on the market but where really not pleased. Either you can't tighten / torque it well enough, or you need to replace lots of parts, or its difficult to install. On top of this most are not particularly attractive.
Hexlox is the result of thousands of hours of testing and R&D.
We began with prototypes where parts needed to be replaced, moved on to solutions where nothing needed to be changed, continued to solutions where we could not get it out at all.. before finally arriving at the current design.
Easy to install, no parts to replace, safe and also sexy.
We are already riding with Hexlox since our first prototype. What better place to test such products than in Berlin, with 40.000 stolen bikes per year.
Current Status
Hexlox is made in Berlin near our offices, making for quick delivery. We will be able to send out the Hexlox before summer starts. It took us over 25 prototypes and design iterations to evolve the design to what it is today. In August 2015 we took Hexlox to Eurobike and showed it to industry leaders there, and since then to countless bike shops and mechanics here in Berlin, and recently at the Taipei Cycle Show – they all love it. We are extremely proud and happy with the final design.
Meet the Core Team!
Marcus is a Swedish serial entrepreneur with an unbeatable love for bikes and sports. Have lived and worked in England, Japan, Germany and Israel. With his 15 year+ experience in business development, sales and marketing he's heading up the business side of Hexlox.
Ian is an Australian Product Designer and entrepreneur having spent many years designing medical products. Elements of this design past can be seen in the ingenious design of the Hexlox and it's engineering elements. During the last 5 years Ian has been developing other security products for bikes and has put all his knowledge into the Hexlox.

Riesgos y desafíos
GENERAL
Like in all development of products there were moments that really made us sweat, but thankfully we have over come all those challenges now.
These obstacle were mostly in the area of how to solve the problem that when no tools could get the Hexlox out, you as a customer still needed to get it out smoothly. That has now been solved.
Issues before also concerned how to make Hexlox the trustable and strong lock that it currently is, without jeopardizing its easy innovative functionality. Now we are ready for manufacturing and our most challenging barrier concerns project funding.
We need the money to finish paying for tooling and for our first batch of products.
As always, we still might face some unexpected situation (like always in life and entrepreneurship), but we are confident that we overcame the most significant challenges and our determination for the project's success is stronger than ever.
Of course we are also fully transparent and will keep you - our backers,
up to date with any development.

We have taken extra time in consideration for the manufacturing process and are confident we will ship on time.

2. We have extensively tested the prototypes for strength, safety and durability on an ongoing basis.

We have established relationships with experienced manufacturers and are producing in BERLIN, Germany to ensure that quality is implemented to the highest level.
