Introducing HX-01, an animated short film by hexeosis.
Hi, my name is hexeosis. For a little over three years now, I’ve been creating and posting animated GIFs on the internet. I’ve been unreasonably lucky to have connected with thousands and thousands of fans from all over the world. Crazy, but awesome!
I’m launching this Kickstarter campaign to help fund the production of a full length, full color, full HD sized animated short film.
As seen in the trailer, this full length video will be a journey in and out of forms and patterns, mandalas and psychedelic landscapes. Colorful calm moments, energetic dynamic sequences and thought-provoking, mind bending constructions woven together into an overall seamless rhythm and flow.
I've been working on this video on and off since the beginning of the year, and have several sections completed already. I decided to make it into a Kickstarter project to help raise funds to get the Blu-ray discs printed and to help spread the word about the video.
As the video production progresses, I’ll keep all of you awesome backers regularly updated with a production blog. I’ll post a few clips, screenshots and GIFs as they are completed for some backer exclusive sneak peaks.
If you are familiar with my GIFs, this video is going to be like the GIFs, except instead of 540x540 pixel size, the video will be full 1920x1080 HD. It will have sound and music. It will be at least 33 minutes long. And you can get it on Blu-ray / DVD disc and Digital HD download. This will be a seamless, 100% animated sequence, timed to music and soundscapes, also created by me especially for this video.
I am creating all of the music and sound effects for the video as well, so that I can time the visuals and audio perfectly. Some sections will be mellow and slower, while others will have a faster pace to mix it up.
ABOUT hexeosis
When I started the hexeosis project, my original idea was to create a visual representation of infinity. And when I originally envisioned this video, I was thinking about something that you could put on in the background at a friendly get together, while chilling out, meditating…. that kind of thing. It’s non-narrative.
If you aren’t familiar with the GIFs I’ve been creating, most of them are posted on my Tumblr page, I’ve created over 1000 of them over the past three years. I also really like Ello, and frequently post larger sized / less compressed GIFs there. You can also check out my Instagram and Twitter for even more images and GIFs.
I'm setting this up on Kickstarter for a couple of reasons. First of all, the idea of building a community of supporters and fans to help back the work is really cool and inspiring. This is the exact kind of project that crowdfunding is suited for, because it appeals directly to the fans.
Secondly, getting the physical Blu-ray discs pressed and the boxes printed is going to cost a bit of money. By running the Kickstarter campaign, I hope to raise enough funds to order a lot of discs all at once, thus significantly lowering the per unit price.

All of the physical reward levels include at least one hexeosis sticker. I’ve been selling stickers on my webstore for a little over a year now and I am super grateful to everyone that has ordered stickers, it’s been a very rewarding experience. I’m always excited to see where they are going, some to cities and towns I’ve never heard of before, and yet thru the internet we’ve been able to connect with each other.
The stickers are made from weatherproof UV laminated vinyl and will last a long time. Each one measures about 3 inches across. They're really bright and durable.

The deluxe edition Blu-ray / DVD disc set includes a set of 6 postcards with images from the film, suitable for mailing (or whatever you normally do with postcards) plus three hexeosis stickers!
I am also including reward levels that come with even more stickers and some that come with platonic solids sticker sheets.
And finally if you are a really big fan and want to support this project in a major way, there are producer and executive producer credits available, which will include having your name in the opening title sequence and a bunch of copies of the Blu-ray / DVD to share with your family and friends!

Risks and challenges
I might get abducted by aliens.
Also, with any creative project there is a chance of delays from unforeseen challenges and obstacles, but I will be sure to be completely transparent about any such problems and keep everyone fully updated.
As I mentioned above, I've already completed several sections of the film, and am estimating it will take about two months to complete the rest, get the discs pressed and shipped out.
I've been successfully shipping out 1000's of stickers to people all over the world without any problems for over a year now and am completely confident I can complete this project in a timely manner as well.
