About this project
Risks and challenges
The biggest risks to the schedule for Hero's Song are the unknowns that come with making games – particularly the most important: 'is it fun yet?'. Making games is part art and part science. Even with the enormous amount of experience on the Pixelmage Games team, there is a very real risk the project could run late. We promise you that we will keep you updated on a weekly basis and keep you posted on how we’re looking, schedule-wise.
The biggest way to mitigate that risk is experience and careful control over the scope. We set out to make Hero's Song on top of the Unity engine so we could focus entirely on making the game itself instead of technical risks that oftentimes slow down projects. In addition, the team is comprised of industry vets that have done this many times before. We also know exactly the game we're making, and that means we're going to carefully control any feature creep.
