If you read the title and it sounds like something you'd be interested in, please continue reading.
I'm here looking for support from you guys to create a new Complete and comprehensive "Do-It-Yourself Costume Making" Tutorial Video series.
I'd like to make the most informative videos to date that I've ever done.
I really love teaching others and I'd really have a blast if given the opportunity to do these videos.
The Campaign will run for for 30 days. Whichever funding goal we have reached, will determine what will be going into the series.Below is the main goal to complete the Core of the "Do-It-Yourself Costume Building" Tutorial series. As mentioned in the video, the more funding will unlock more Tutorials explaining the other methods/techniques into the video series at no extra cost when DVD series releases or when you choose that as a Backing amount.
It has the potential to all be in there.
Check out the Backing Rewards to the right.
Lots of cool things to choose.
***Note -In regards to Helmet kits/Finished Helmets Backing Rewards - These are unpainted kits and Fully Finished/Painted Helmets from my personal library that I will offer to you as a gift in appreciation for Supporting this campaign for that specific amount. + a DVD Copy of the Costume Building Tutorials Video Series on BOTH options.
Please PM Me on my Facebook page if you're interested in those Reward Incentives.***
Disclaimer- Any costumes/Items displayed in the launch video are personal costumes I've made for myself. They were used to demonstrate my abilities to the viewing public and to give confidence to anyone considering backing this campaign. The kickstarter launch video does not represent the actual costumes/Items that will be shown directly being built in the actual DVD tutorial series. different designs will be chosen for the tutorials if it reaches its funding goal.
Funding Goal Level 1: Do-It-Yourself Costume Making Tutorial Video series
This is the core of the "Do-It-Yourself Costume Making" Tutorial Video series.. It will cover all the steps I use to build Costumes. Even an absolute beginner can end up with something to be proud of. You can choose your path depending on materials used: Cardstock Paper, EVA Foam or even Cardboard.
Methods will include Costume building using software and pre made templates. It will be a complete visual demonstration from start to finish.
Overfunding Goal 2: SCRATCH BUILDING COSTUME/CREATING YOUR OWN TEMPLATES
This tutorials series will cover how to create costumes by creating your own custom templates to fit your body.
You'll be using different materials such as EVA foam or cardboard and others.
Once these were built, you would easily take the info from the main series into effect on how to finish the costumes so, they're ready to wear as the finishing techniques would basically be the same.
There will even be a tutorial on how to build a great costume at home with minimal mess and no need for any harsh spray paints or chemical fumes. Perfect for any age/workspace.
Over Funding Goal 3: ELECTRONICS
Incorporate Motorized moving costume parts via the push of a button. I
will teach you different easy to do, simple ways to light up different parts of
a costume to really make it stand out with ease.
You will learn how to apply what you've learned in this section to program and install you're own unique effects to whatever you're building.
My goal is to always try to do something in a way that's not too overly complicated to get the same great result and you don't have to be an engineer to do so. Also, I will demonstrate on how to add sounds and lights to really make your costume come alive in many different ways.
Overfunding Goal 4: SCULPTING/MOLDING/CASTING
Included are steps on sculpting a helmet/mask from scratch. I will be covering the steps on making a Lifecast / headform of your head to sculpt helmets perfectly to your head size. Sculpting the helmet in oil-based clay. Taking the clay sculpt, molding it and casting it into an actual physical, wearable helmet/mask. Also, the complete finishing process.
The molding/casting techniques can also be used on helmets or costume parts
that you have created with the previous tutorials, to create copies from the
original "master" helmet you have already made.
There will also be Tutorials on creating 1 and 2 part box molds for small or large items such as small detail parts for costumes, knives, swords and other prop weapons.
Note- Any Costumes/Items displayed in the launch video are personal Costumes I've made for myself. They were used demonstrate my abilities to the viewing public and to give confidence to anyone considering backing this Campaign. The Kickstarter launch video does not represent the actual Costumes/Items that will be shown directly being built in the actual DVD Tutorial Series. Different Designs will be chosen for the Tutorials if it reaches its funding goal.
Risks and challenges
In closing, I really appreciate you coming to check out the page.I truly hope it gets funded, even on the minimal level. Without the adequate funding, I cannot afford the materials, equipment and I won't be able to dedicate the time/labour to this project to make this project happen on my own.
