In this tabletop game you are a young adventurer who has just left home. With only a couple of items in your pack, you have set out for a town you have heard tales of- Heroes Cove. Rumor is that Kaira, a former Gladiator who won her own freedom, has settled in this paradise town. Kaira has even been known to take aspiring warriors under her wing to train and mentor. When you arrive at Heroes Cove you see many other young travelers and realize that they have come with the same hope. Kaira cannot train them all so you must compete for her attention by completing quests for Kaira’s beloved Heroes Cove and it’s residents!
You may be asked by Grant, the town’s sheriff, to take care of a pirate problem; or Thurmon, Heroes Cove’s mayor, may require assistance clearing land. Each of these quests require items and if you can provide them you are in! Depending on how you and the rest of the group performed on the quest you could receive any combination of loot, coin, damage and victory points. Your race and class abilities, as well as loot and armor items can affect these outcomes. Individual quests are another opportunity to outshine your competitors. Take too much damage and you could die, but gain the most victory points and you win the race for Kaira’s attention!

The game of Heroes Cove offers a familiar feel for experienced RPGers, but brings unique game mechanics to give you a fresh experience each time you play!
Choosing your character is not an hours long process, in fact, it is done in two quick steps! During game setup, each player draws two race cards from the deck and chooses one. Then, players select their class in the same way. The class card is placed above the race card so the column of hearts (your life/health points) lines up and voila! Race, class, special abilities and health are all set and ready to begin questing!
In a typical four player game you will complete three Level 1 quests, two Level 2 quests and 2 level three quests. This can be changed and adjusted- only have 15 minutes? Play only 3 Level 1 quests. Need to kill an hour? Play three of each level! You can see how no two games are ever alike!
What’s that? You like a good cooperative game experience? Heroes Cove can give the feel of a cooperative game since group quests must be completed for the game to progress. But some of you like cut-throat competition? While there is a cooperative requirement, the game will have only one winner! You may find a way to block another player from obtaining a share on a group quest, or exploit a special ability of your character; however you do it, your character must stay alive and have the most victory points at the end of the game for you to be crowned the winner… this time.

We are working with different methods to get international shipping down, luckily Josh worked for a major stevedoring company (yes, we will wait while you look up that weird word) so he is familiar with the different issues that can occur when your freight is loaded up on one of those big container ships.
Shipping costs can change between when the Kickstarter is successfully funded and when the game is ready to ship. Sadly, that is one thing we cannot control; so while we do not plan on increasing the costs, we may have to. Hopefully, shipping costs will drop and we will be able to send you a refund! What you can be sure of is that we will be using the materials and methods needed to ensure your product's safe arrival, with the least amount of waste and cost.
Risks and challenges
We have learned so much since our original attempt to fund this project on Kickstarter! We learned from our mistakes and we learned from others’ mistakes- that's what life is about, right? So this time around we have learned more about manufacturing and found ways to get the game to our backers with a lower funding goal and bring you the game at a lower price point without sacrificing quality. There will be challenges ahead, but we are dedicated to delivering you the absolute best product in the timeliest manner and striving for 100% customer satisfaction!
We have done a lot of research and feel prepared for whatever issues may arise. Attending and playtesting at GenCon, meeting with manufacturers, learning from panels and workshops, being an avid backer of Kickstarter campaigns, commissioning artists, surveying our demographic and extensive playtesting all over our region are only a sample of the work we have put in, and we know it is not done!
The game, including art and formatting, is about 90% print ready and may be 100% by the time the Kickstarter campaign concludes. We will work to have the files sent off for production within two weeks of the campaign’s conclusion. We are certain this is a completely achievable goal, as we have already had a test run where we had 10 prototypes manufactured.
Delays in production can occur with any project. Issues with files, quality control, or customs inspections; but we are so dedicated to building an excellent brand and being able to expand on this project that we will do anything to deliver the best product to our backers.
