Here Inside is Anne Kirby (vocals) and Jason Mundok (guitar, vocals, keyboard).
We are an atmospheric dreampop duo from Lancaster, PA. Through our new album, CoalescE, we are reconnecting with past creative pursuits that other life priorities pushed aside over the years, and are making space to write and record fresh new original music. On CoalescE, our pasts are represented by reimagined versions of songs written 20 years ago, combined with several brand new songs that we wrote together this past summer. Our music has a slow dreamy quality, full of reverb-soaked vocal harmonies, conceptual lyrics, and washes of chords from a heavily effected hollow body guitar.
Here are some samples of the music we're making for CoalescE include a rough mix of "Bits" from the initial studio sessions, and demos for "Pressure" and "Still Point":
I formed Here Inside in late 2013 as a creative and collaborative platform to make music as art. While I had consistently played over the previous 20+ years, it became clear to me that over time I had abandoned the true reasons that I first began writing and performing music--to immerse myself in the creative process, to use sound as an expressive art form, and to create something that moved others as my favorite music moved (and continues to move) me. I wanted to experience that energy again, and with musicians who felt the same way!
Anne joined Here Inside in 2015. After performing in a traditional Irish family vocal group from childhood into her teens, she took a 20 year hiatus from singing. Music was no less important to her over the years, but performing had been put on hold while other aspects of life became the priority. She and I had been coworking together and collaborating on other creative projects when an off-hand Facebook status inspired me to ask Anne to join the band and rekindle her love for singing.
Through this band and album project we have realized that it’s never too late to do what you love. We have to feed our families and our bank accounts, but also have to feed our souls! We’re documenting the entire creative process of this project and invite you to join us on our journey. Any level of support for the project will give you an ALL ACCESS PASS to a private website where we’ll be sharing the experience through video, special recordings, and our own journals. We hope that this project will also inspire you to always make space to do what you love!

We are partnering with producer and recording engineer, Mike Newman, to record the album at The SugarTank recording studio in Lancaster. Mike is one of the co-founders of the studio and we’re really excited to be working on his first album project in their brand new facility in the historic WLAN building in downtown Lancaster, PA.
Washington D.C. based artist and photographer, David Bellard, is working with us to create handmade screen print packaging for a special edition short run of the CD. This version of the CD is included in several of the rewards and all special edition CDs will be signed. David is also the official project photographer.
Rewards and Budget
Recording an album requires many resources. Our budget for the entire project is $7,000. Our initial goal is to raise $4,000 to cover the cost of recording and mastering. We would love to fund the entire project through the special pre-order packages, but we will also be personally investing in this project as needed.
- Recording and mastering: $4,000
- CD artwork and production: $1,300
- T-shirts, VIP party, and other rewards: $700
- Kickstarter fees and reward fulfillment: $1,000
We designed the rewards for this project to accommodate any level of support and ALL are very much appreciated. Rewards start at only $10 for a pre-order digital copy of the album. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can book us to perform a private concert in your home with all of the other rewards included for $500. We also have rewards for many levels in between, including tickets to a very special VIP launch party, which will be held at Hunter’s Tryst, a new listening room located on the sixth floor of The Candy Factory in Lancaster, PA.
Any level of support will grant you an ALL ACCESS PASS to a private website where you can follow along. Information about connecting to the ALL ACCESS PASS will be sent via email after you make a pledge.

Risks and challenges
As with any creative project, there are many moving parts and production delays are always a possibility. As of the launch of this Kickstarter project, we have already completed pre-production for the album and started tracking the songs. We are on schedule so far, so production delays are minimal.
Three of our project rewards include tickets to our VIP album launch party to be held in a brand new listening room venue called Hunter’s Tryst. The venue is currently under renovation and while we are confident that our timeline to open the space is reasonable, there is a risk that construction could be delayed and the party and album launch moved to later in the spring of 2017. The launch party will definitely be held on a Saturday evening and we're shooting for late February/early March. We will publish the date as soon as possible and contact all ticket holders when the final date is selected.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
