About this project
Hi there, it's us again!
We just wanted to post here the link to our newest video for our "It might become a movie" campaign (more details about the campaign below): http://www.youtube.com/watch... - in this one, our screenwriter and co-director tries to earn some money by playing the guitar in public. Hope you like it!
More videos for the campaign and other various content at www.talvezrockstar.com
We have yet another video for out "It might become a movie" campaign up on our website, talvezrockstar.com
This time, both our first and second assistant directors decided to go out on Sao Paulo's busiest avenue, the Paulista Avenue, where they held up a huge sign promoting our film while asking for help towards national cinema.
We hope you like it! Don't forget to check out the previous videos for the campaign at talvezrockstar.com!
Thank you, thank you, a hundred times thank you! We actually did it, and it was all thanks to you guys! We have reached our $1000 goal with one week to spare. We're really thankful for all of you that believed in our idea and/or appreciated our effort. We don't want to get too cheesy on you guys so let's just end this with one more "thank you". Thank you!
We have a new video up for our "It might become a movie" campaign. This one is called "At The Traffic Light", in which one of our producers stays at a busy road intersection trying to get some money for the film by selling candies. http://www.youtube.com/watch...
We'll keep frequently updating our website, talvezrockstar.com, with more videos for the campaign and other various content!
Time for another update!
Again, we can't thank enough everyone who is donating, or even just checking this project out, it means a lot to all of us.
We have put up a new video on our website for the "It might become a movie" campaign - http://www.youtube.com/watch... - again, hope you like it.
Don't forget to check out the other videos, if you haven't already, at talvezrockstar.com
Alright! We'd just really like to thank everyone who has donated so far - 13% pledged in less than 24 hours - that's pretty amazing! It's been a nice experience, we hope you guys are enjoying it just as much as we are. Don't forget to check out the first video we made for our campaign: "Paid
Hugs", a parody of the famous "Free Hugs"- http://www.youtube.com/watch... - we really hope you enjoy it.
Hello, there! I guess the best way to describe ourselves is pretty simple: we are broke film students. We have 25 people in our crew and one screenplay we all embrace:
Lucas is the guitarist and lead singer in an unsuccessful band. He doesn't mind the lack of audience at his gigs though - he loves what he does and will keep on doing it no matter what. He shares his apartment with the band's drummer, Mateus, who has the mental age of a peanut. A drunken peanut, at that. Lucas is going through a creativity dry spell and has trouble writing new material. But all that, and more, will change when he meets her -
We want to bring that story, called "Maybe, Rockstar", to life. Well, not life, but to the screen, which is close enough. But for that to happen, we need your help! We have created a campaign called "It Might Become a Movie", which is destined to help us raise funds for this short film of ours. The campaign consists of us doing all sorts of things to get people to embrace this project too and possibly help us fund it. The video you just saw (or didn't, though you should - it's cool and only two minutes long - come on, you know you want to) is the introductory video for said campaign, so it sums up the whole idea behind it: things that broke, yet determined, film students sometimes resort to in order to make a film. We'll constantly put up new videos for this campaign on our website (talvezrockstar.com) along with videos that will keep you updated as to where we're at in this pre-production stage. If you can make any contributions at all, it will help us greatly and it will not be in vain. For example, if we raise enough money, we might even be able to afford the rental of this camera (Canon 5D Mark II) and get pretty images like these:
So, if you liked the effort, or the idea, or maybe both, you can help us out. Although a lot of the
production of a film is a good idea and a lot of effort, it stills costs a lot. A lot. And it's because we really want to do this and not let this idea go to waste that we're asking for donations.
Please help us make the short film "Maybe, Rockstar" and share the joy of watching a written idea become a whole lot more than that!
