We're Back!
We had so much fun the first go-around, we are back at it for our second Kickstarter campaign! After such an encouraging response to our first project for our ABC Flashcards last year, we decided to come back with our newest idea: Pattern and Color Flash Cards for Darling Designers and Aspiring Artists. We are so, so proud of how this design turned out and we can't wait to get them in your hands!
Who are we?
Helmsie is Karla (textile designer) and Sarah (biomedical engineer), BFFs turned entrepreneurs! Our business is a children’s lifestyle brand based in Georgia, the result of years of friendship, and a desire to see functional and beautiful products in the marketplace. When we found ourselves new mothers several years ago, our focus became clear: creating Southern inspired, fun and stylish kid products that we would want to buy and have in our homes.
Why Pattern and Color Flash Cards?
Learn the names of the advanced colors and patterns that designers use everyday! A damask pattern is a pretty, mirrored, abstracted, floral design that is often used in wallpaper, and maybe you would see it printed in "heliotrope," a purple color. Ogee (oh-gee) pattern is made up of intersecting and contrasting s-curves creating onion shapes, you might see it in a millennial pink or celadon color. We guarantee that you have seen all of these patterns and colors at some point, but may not have known the proper names. Challenge your littles, and yourself too, as you learn together!
These cards make great gifts for a baby shower, birthday party or even someone interested in art or art school. They even make for great decoration in a baby room or in an office.
The quality of these new cards is exceptional. They are printed on oversized, thick card stock with a glossy finish. The custom-designed box measures 6.6" x 4.6" and the wipeable finish keeps them looking new even after toddler play.

We need your help! This campaign is intended to help us launch these new cards into the direct and wholesale marketplace and help us invest in future products (we have so many ideas!). We are so thankful for your support! To show our thanks, we have provided a few different rewards based on support levels. The Pattern and Color flashcards are included at every level. In addition, some levels of support will receive hand-drawn original ABC cards, a Helmsie fine art poster, and/or a piece of jewelry from our brand new Helmsie jewerly line.
Risks and challenges
The cards are designed and ready to go! At this time, we do not foresee any challenges with this project. All backers within the USA will receive their cards within two weeks of the campaign end date.
